You've got to try this out! (YouTube 3D related)

Apparently YouTube now has a feature that will automatically convert 2D videos to 3D. This clip from The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson seems to work amazingly well. If you don't have a 3D enabled system or colored glasses, try the No glasses viewing mode.

I'd always assumed that these conversions required a lot of work. But this looks at least as good as any converted film I've seen, if not better.

Also, please let's not turn this into a war about 3D movies and how it's a gimmick or not a gimmick. I'm not exactly sold on it either, but this technology fascinates me. I mean, imagine if movies could be automatically colorized.

This is not exactly workable.

First of all, "nothing to see here" in Opera. Tried opening it in Firefox and finally got the little "3D" symbol next to the gear. Clicked on that, etc. Got two side by side images. Went to change to red-green style. And then all the 3d stuff went away.

Closing, reopening, starting another window. Nada. the "3D" symbol was gone.

So it's about as cool as ... nothing.

You have to turn the 3D back on after selecting the alternate mode. Don't know why it's not working in Opera. You also sometimes have to wait a few seconds for the 3D symbol to show up.

Personally, I just cross my eyes, like for those Magic Eye images.

And that link is lying. It's not on all videos.

Works fine on Opera 11.62 here. Pretty cool; thanks for sharing!

(Probably-obvious-but-what-the-hell tip: if you choose the no-glasses mode, you have to treat it like a Magic Eye image. Diverge your eyes until the white dots at the top overlap. It may help to move back a bit.)

I got the 3D symbol in Opera, but tragically I don't have a 3D monitor, or colored glasses. I tried the no glasses | cross eyed option but couldn't merge the two images.
