Windows XP: System Restore?

I am in Safe Mode looking for how to do a system restore. I can't recall how this is done. All I can recall is it will ask you when (what date) to revert back to. Can someone help me recall how I access "System Restore" and walk me through it, if it is several steps. Thx!

Actually...followed steps online, but box does not populate as it should. I think our desktop is fried. Nite all!

If the "box" is the calendar the shows the restore points that you could go back to, then don't panic yet. That calendar shows you only a month at a time, and there might be a restore point from long ago. If there are absolutely no restore points at all, it will say so. If it doesn't say so, then there is one but might be many months back.

If it explicitly says that there are no restore points, then you can panic.
