Scammer? Really? His post was honest enough for all of us to recognize how asinine the request was when we first read it. If he wanted to lie or scam us he could have, you know, actually lied or scammed us. Keep it in perspective ya'll.

I give his apology a tepid C-, but it's good enough for me. It's tough to be 100% contrite with everyone piling on like they do, even when you know you're in the wrong.

Reminds me of sign a homeless guy used in Austin when I went to college: "Yell at a homeless vet, $1"

Lute you should start a similar thread title with a link to a donation button. You'd be pretty close to your goal by now.

And I'm sorry about your AC situation. I feel for you, though I wouldn't give you $30 for it. Stay strong.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm really glad now that Bob Evans didn't get back to me about that online job application I filled out a year or so ago.

Thanks

That just reminded me that The Prosthetic Bunny Titties second album release is sometime in June.

I agree with all of this. I hope you'll stick around Lute. Heat can kill both humans and rabbits, so I had no problem with your initial request since it sounded like you didn't have access to any other funds. I do hope you figure out why it was inappropriate to ask us to share this cost with you. But I certainly don't think you need to leave the board over this. Unfortunately, this will probably not be a good place for you to ask for help if you ever do really need it though.

Every time I see .2c in the title when I come to the pit, I think ".2, or 20%, of the speed of light - that doesn't make any sense. Oh, .2 cents - wait, that still doesn't make any sense. It should just be 2 cents, not .2 cents, since two cents makes sense. Even .2 dollars doesn't make sense for the cents."

Then I think about how pin and pen sound the same to me.

Agreed. I hate the fact that it takes 15 dimes to make a dollar, and 8.33333 pennies to make a dime, and 13/pi 100 dollar bills to make 1,000 dollars.

Totally screwed up.

Dont matter.

I sent because I wanted to. I had the most brutal winter of my life. I wont go into to many details but I ate pickles that had frozen solid in my living room for their life sustaining properties.

I now have the best job I have ever had and will make about 4 times as much as I have ever made in a single year with 5-6 full months off. And little to no bills.

I was looking for someone to help.

I was not gonna post this but thought it strange that I never got a simple thanks.

Well, he kind of got heavily shit on here. He might not have felt like talking to anyone, even though a "thank you" would have been appropriate.

Congrats on hitting the employment jackpot.

As someone who also has depression, I disagree. I go around constantly wondering when everyone will figure out how big of a loser I really am. It's a relief when it happens.

Speaking also as someone who it completely and irrevocably financially fucked in the ass without lubrication...

Well, I'm not going there because I don't really deserve charity because I'm such a loser.

For one the Pitting started before the announcement that he had depression. I am not required to remember everyone's posting history. For another as many have pointed out, depression is not a gateway to begging. An apology should not contain the reason why it's not your fault. If you have a condition that might be worsened by criticism, step away from the Dope. Its not like my life is all rainbows and unicorns. If I post something stupid I would expect a good pitting. IIRC I have been pitted once. It did not go the way the OP had hoped.

Perhaps I do. I'm not proud of how I have acted in this thread. It was so bad that I thought to myself, "monkey, you're not just being an idiot, you are being a complete asshole, and maybe as bad a person as you are accusing others of being. Shut up and get your head back together" So I stepped away from the computer.

But I'm back now. I still don't like what Lute Skywatcher did. But, fuck, some of the things I said may make me more of a dick than he was. I want to apologize to everybody for that.

One other thing, though. I don't understand the breast implant references. Can somebody provide a brief synopsis of whatever happened there?

And again. I fully admit I was a complete asshole earlier in this thread, and I'm sorry.

I think the breast implant thing and the gastric bypass thing are referencing the same rumor that OpalCat took money off posters on her Fathom forum to get a Brazilian body job done. Pretty positive none of it happened on this site.

This is the correct way to apologize.

Sorry for posting off topic.
But Wait...What?

Farmer Jane posted recently on a thread I had started and she (?) linked it to a picture also.

I didn't know the history behind Citizen Pained.
I will read some old threads now. Interesting.

Carry on...

How do you know this?

Have you ever had an exploded bunny on your hands?

The closest I've come was when my cat had diarrhea once.
