CDC advises public to prepare for a zombie apocalypse!!!

Recent events sparking advisory:

- the face eater in Florida
- Maryland man killed and dismembered roomate and ate his heart and brain
- New Jersey man that cut open his stomach and threw parts of his skin and intestines at police
- Suspect in Canada that has mailed severed hands and feet to political party headquarters

the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that if it could convince the public to prepare for the zombie apocalypse, maybe they'd be better prepared for disasters that can actually happen -- such as earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, or a major pandemic.

They however have no knowledge of an outbreak of a zombie virus.

Are you prepared for the impending zombie invasion?

That's the question posed by the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention in a Monday blog posting gruesomely titled, "Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse." And while it's no joke, CDC officials say it's all about emergency preparation.

"There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for," the posting reads. "Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That's right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you'll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you'll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency."

That's a pretty good lead time, a full year.
