Mystery blood stains

I deliver newspapers at night, and surprisingly often you see blood on the floor in the apartment buildings - not every month, but several times per year, and it's not like I'm working in a bad neighborhood. Usually its just a few drops, but this morning I saw a thick circle of blood (not drawn but just sort of smeared, still quite close to proper circle) roughly 1m in diameter, maybe slightly more, with empty space in the middle that had a pair of clean but used latex gloves in it, with two tiny white plastic cubes or stoppers, sugarcube-sized, on top of the gloves. On the outer edges of the stain were prints of naked feet and thicker coagulated splotches of blood.

I've seen more blood once during my work rounds, but that time there was a human being lying in it. I've been wondering ever since what the hell did happen in that spot? I saw 2 empty medical packages for latex gloves and another pair of gloves in the building lobby as well, but that didn't really unveil the mystery for me.

Any guesses? Wild theories?

I put on my robe and wizardSherlock Holmes hat.

"Aha, my dear Watson! I suspect murder most foul! Or, at the very least, amateur kidney transplantation."

Maybe you mean: Amateur non-consensual involuntary kidney donation
Were there buckets of half-melted ice cubes laying around?

OP: Are these multiple blood sightings of which you speak all happening in the SAME apartment building, or have you seen this in various buildings around your route?

Maybe there are back-alley-style abortions or male organ enhancement procedures going on? If you're seeing this all in one building, with left-over pieces of medical-looking equipment laying around, maybe there's a practitioner who's set up shop there.

Nope. Just the gloves. The gloves and the fact there was more blood than you'd get from a small cut were what made it so curious, and of course the weird circular pattern of it.

Various buildings, also used to happen along other routes. I had maybe 40 big apartment buildings on my last route, so seeing some minor blood stains (and broken bottles, and vomit and shit and passed out people and whatnot - cities are so charming at night) every once in a while wasn't so strange. The one bigger incident was an older woman who had slipped in the stairs and landed head-first half a level lower and I honestly thought she was dead. Head wounds bleed a lot.

My WAG is the leavings of EMT's after maybe stabilizing a wound on someone standing, before taking them to the hospital.

This. No blood, but after my ex was taken to hospital from my living room one day I got home to find tourniquet wrappings, a medication box (nothing in it), empty plastic saline ampoules and a latex glove on my living room floor. The ambulance staff don't stop to pick up (non-hazardous) rubbish after they're done, they're too busy loading the patient into the ambulance and heading out to the hospital.

I'll second that. I'll also say the EMTs on scene are supposed to dispose of any trash they generate that is a biohazard, in reference to Sierra Indigo's post.

Any goat parts nearby? A few years ago in Pittsburgh a voodoo ceremony left behind blood, goat legs, etc.
