Taters, that settles it, take the job the old boss was offering; if you run out of TP again, you can go to Costco, or I seem to remember a place thataways that has a really big supply; Mooommmm's.
It was at Tucker House, an mansion in the old money section of town. It went well ,apart from it being 106. The groom was pretty blitzed; I told the bride "The longest sentence in the English language is 'I do.' "
Also, I'm house sitting for my "just friend", since she took her grandson(my little hockey buddy) to see Great-grandma. I now have my own key to her place.

glad everybody survived the storms.

I am up and have already been productive - went downstairs to make a lovely English cuppa and put the dishes away from last night, then decided while the kettle was boiling that I should empty the drawer where the saucepans live and clean the base of the drawer. After that, and my restorative cup of tea, I have changed the bedding and put that on to wash.

I think brekkie will be next, then vacuuming and ironing, and if the rain holds off I might get outside to weed the borders around the drive. Domestic Goddess, thy name is BooFae!

Good Morning Y'all! Up and caffienatin'. *YAWN* 'Tis 78 Amurrkin out already with a predicted high of 102 and a heat index of 115. After yestiddy today will be a do as little as possible day and will not involve bein' outside. Except the smoker needs cleanin'. Le Sigh.

Also today is brunch day at the church house followin' deheathenization. On top of that we have a Parish Meetin' to discuss well, church stuff with the Parish. Oh Joy! Topics include an update on what is goin' on with the proposed idea of the Lutherans joinin' up with us and how to better utilize space for the choir, nursery and children's church. As a Vestry member I get to listen to ideas, gripes and field questions. Envy me.

I'll probably need a nappypoo afterwards.

Now I need more caffiene and should fine sustenance for rumbly tummy. Purtification for deheathenization must also happen at some point.

Happy Sunday Y'all!

ETA: BooFae go you domestic goddess you!

Waking up, caffeinating. Caffienating. Cafinating.

Whatever.

Drinking iced tea & lemonade, which is my drink of choice. I go through 5-10 large fast food soft drink cups a day, which is my cup of choice.

Looked at my hours this week. After today I'll top out right around 70 hours, which I don't do often. Gotta grab OT while its around 'cause several times a year they declare 'no ot whatsoever' and they mean it.

Here's to a quiet day.

Dude, looks like you need some coffee....

(FTR, if we're going to make a verb of it, it should be caffeinating -- so you got it right the first time; it's just your self-doubts that got you in the end! )

Had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Yum. Didn't have buttermilk, so I used a combination of Greek yogurt and milk. Regular yogurt and milk is better, I think, but nephew gobbled 7, so I guess they were OK.

Getting ready to go into the heat to watch the bike race. Back later...

Hugs.

We may need to hold a funeral here shortly. Our air conditioner died in its sleep. Or more accurately, in our sleep. The house was a happy 74 degrees when we went to bed, and when we woke up, it was 84 and sticky. Not a fun sort of sticky either.

Just have to wait to hear back from the property manager, who is waiting to hear back from the property owner. I really don't think I should have to be subject or exposed to that part of the process. Part of paying rent to a management company is the idea that if something breaks, you call them and it's fixed without having to worry if the owner is away on vacation or whatever.

Hot hot hot hot again! We just finished building platform over the basement stairs so I can paint the ceiling and the walls in the stairwell when FCD goes to Johnstown tomorrow. It ain't purdy, but it's solid and I have no concerns about standing on it, so yay.

That's all the useful stuff for today. Off to check the boat, then home to veg...

Happy Sunday!

WOOHOO!!! I sold some stuff!!!

On the way to check the boat, we stopped at the little shop that's selling my pottery - they just opened yesterday and they've sold several pieces already! I looked at the other pottery they were selling and I now know what my niche is - more artsy and whimsical rather than "nice dishware" - so face mugs and monsters and fun stuff. I am inspired!! But I can't get back to my studio till the stairwell is painted, since the platform is blocking the stairs. I could go outside and enter the basement that way, but it's too hot... <whine whine whine>

But I'm selling stuff. YAY!!! And I think I may gather up my so-so stuff and make a bargain box like $3 per piece or something - gonna email the owners and see what they think.

That's great news, FCM! Congratulations!

I have Death Chicken in the oven to take to MiLs. As soon as my husband gets out of the shower, I'll hop in and clean up.

I really would just prefer to stay home. I've got so much stuff that needs doing in my yard and it's not raining today. Yesterday it was raining, so I couldn't really get out there and tend to it. Maybe the weather will cooperate on the 4th of July...

I think I've seen at least half of the pet spiders running around the place today. As long as they keep eating the ¡SILVERFISH! they can scuttle about as much as they like. I found a ¡SILVERFISH! in the bathroom twice in two weeks. These are bugs that are not allowed to live in my home. The spiders will eat them, so they may stay.

PapaJohn made supper, and I ran to the grocery next door to get a lemon meringue pie for dessert. It's great when dinner happens like this. Especially with my 50% PapaJohn's promotion code, so we got a pizza and 10 wings for under $13. Good deal!

If Toucanna doesn't start the MMP again tomorrow, I'd like to take it and use my idea before I forget it, because we all know where my memory is going today. If we don't, we do now...

My landlord likes me. My cite is the text that the AC guy showed me saying "they're good tenants plz call them soon"

A new capacitor and a touch of refrigerant later, it's running again. No idea how long it will take to get the house cool again, but I'm just happy that A: it's working, and B: our landlord likes us.

It is almost six thirty p.m. and it's 103 Amurrkin out! Yay for a/c. Also, gotti yay for a landlord that likes you and gets your a/c back asap.

Spaz silverfish are the ickiest bugs in the world next to roaches.

I just had a shower. It felt good.

How's this for irony?

A small storm just rumbled through, and now it's cooler OUTSIDE than in. I'd open the windows, but the last thing I need to add to the house is more humidity. (or rain!)

Shouldn't you brush your teeth before shaving them? Gets the knots out. <nods>

Today was bright and early to the storage shed to see how much crap we could drag out of there, so we can see how much crap we can put back in. Despite it being wee-early, I was still sweating sheets into my eyes so bad they are still all red and gross, lol. Only 12 percent humidity but that's enough to turn 85 into a sauna for me, apparantly.
I don't mind sweating...my clothes were soaked within a quarter hour...but glasses are bad enough without having to remove the sweat-slicked things to get sweat out of my eyes every minute or two, ugh! Next weekend, I'll bite the bullet and wear a dorky 80's tennis player bandana.

Is this the one you've been talking about for a while, because I have a seasonally appropriate one if your is not time sensitive?

Stoopit Verizon DSL. It's like a yo-yo, it's up, it's down, back up, no wait, down again. So I couldn't get on earlier to stake a claim to it.

So that microwave truck that I waited 14 weeks to get fixed the last time I had trouble?

Yeah, the dish fell off the truck. I have no idea where.

Fuck.

It looks like we have a spare, but with the storm everyone is too tired to fix things.

Today is day 7 of work this week. When I clock out it will close to 80 hours.

It's a small microwave dish 24" x 18" in size. Not an insurance issue for sure. And I saw it on the truck when I left the station at 1p, it was missing at 2p when I stopped to p. I think it came off on the beltway around Connecticut Ave.

At least not until someone calls the station saying "this thing with your name on it smashed though my windshield"

Let's just hope you parked in a bad neighborhood and someone stole it, thinking they could use it to get free HBO.
