Thanks for that. I just thought I would report that it was the same game we remember, not an update or remake.

I normally don't do these, but the deals here are way too good for me to mention.
This weekend, GOG.com is running an 80% off on select Telltale games and 50% off all Interplay games. The Telltale games are below. (All appear to include the disk-only special features.) Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Sam & Max Save the World Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse Wallace & Gromit`s Grand Adventures Back to the Future: The Game Tales of Monkey Island Interplay games include the early Fallouts, Descent (1&2), Earthworm Jim 1+2, 3d. And, as a reminder, these are all DRM free. |

I swore I wasn't going to buy anything until the Steam Christmas sale, but I've been looking at a couple of these titles for a long time. I'll probably get around to playing them in 2015.

You can get Battlefield 1942 free on origin in their demos section of their client. Still a pretty great game 10 years later - you'll have to edit some ini files for high res. Still people playing - if you give a game a proper client-server architecture, and it's a classic, people will play it for 20 years.

For people getting the THQ pack, my personal recommendation is that you get the Stalker Complete Mod. Nicer graphics, some AI fixes, bunch of bug fixes, ends the insane head bob, etc.
Hitman: Absolution - Professional Edition is just $29.95 with code GMG35-FGR37-COY0B from Greenman Gaming |

Gods & Kings for Civ V is $7.50 on Amazon.
It's for the Mac download version but it's a Steam key and will upgrade both Mac and PC versions (assuming your base game is through Steam). Last edited by Jophiel; 11-18-2012 at 10:52 AM. |

Thanks, Jophiel!
Yep, it works on the PC! I just bought and downloaded it (just get the key from Amazon and download through Steam directly). After activating it on Steam, it said "Gods and King Mac" but then proceeded to automatically update my Civ 5 installation. Plus, the Store page says I own it, and the game is listed as SteamPlay (Mac + PC). And the game works -- religion and espionage and all ![]() As a bonus, you get $5 off a future Amazon digital purchase for a 2012 GOTY game starting next January -- effectively making this G&K for $2.50. Not too bad at all. Thanks, Jophiel! Last edited by Reply; 11-18-2012 at 02:31 PM. |

GOG is potentially giving away a free copy of Realms of Arkania 3 for doing a connection speed test. You're not guaranteed a win but you can try from multiple devices/computers/connections and/or re-try after a few hours.

Cool. I'd invite you to repost that to the other thread. After thinking about it, there will probably be a lot of black friday sales this year from various distributors, so we might want to focus all that discussion into that one thread.

While unfortunately this is sort of strange and reeks of desperation, the THQ Humble Bundle
is a pretty ridiculous deal.
I feel weird about it since it seems like the humble bundle should remain an indie thing, but it's hard to object to this sort of thing. THQ is in dire straights and this seems like a desperation move for some cash - hope COH2 is ok. Games are Darksiders, Metro 2033, Red Faction Armageddon, Company of Heroes and expansions, and if you beat the $5.47 (current) average price, Saints Row 3. This is a ridiculously good bundle, needless to say, so don't cheap out and give them a buck. Never do that for humble bundles - that's so obnoxious. |

I guess there is no reason that model should be restricted to indie games, and THQ has put out some good stuff. I already have Metro 2033 but got it for $5. Darksiders looks like the most fun when I'm in the mood for a beat-em-up. I don't love RTS but I like WW2 games so we'll see about Company of Heroes. And Red Faction Armageddon looks ok but don't like the third-person view. I liked the destructible terrain in Red Faction all those years ago.

GMG has a 30% off voucher GMG30-DEC01-ARFC9 good through the weekend. Works on pre-orders and Guild Wars 2 as well as the usual games.
GMG also has an offer for a 35% off voucher if you pre-order a game but you have to pay full price for the pre-order and can not stack the 30% discount and get another 35% voucher. Last edited by Jophiel; 12-01-2012 at 01:46 PM. |

If you're going to be ordering a full price preorder, GMG is almost always the way to go I think. Their 25-30% off everything coupons are pretty awesome. Considering preordering COH2 from there.
You can often stack deals too, ie 50% off deal plus 30% off coupon. Does anyone know if the current 30% off coupon only works once, or doesn't stack with other deals, or any of that? I don't want to use it on a $5 game and then find out I can't use it on COH2 later. |

It works as often as you want until Dec 7th (might be one item per transaction though). Keep in mind that GMG is on UT time when skating close to the deadline.
It will stack with most regular discounts (i.e. "on sale") but you can't stack more than one voucher. Some titles won't accept any discounts (due to publisher) but they should say so in the item description. Last edited by Jophiel; 12-05-2012 at 01:16 PM. |

Hotline Miami (4.99) and FTL (5.99) are both on sale on Steam this weekend. I was planning on holding out for the Christmas sale for these two, but will Hotline Miami really get less than 4.99? I think FTL might go lower. Just wanted to see what opinions are.

The Secret World, IMO one of the most unique MMOs ever made with a heavy emphasis on storyline, acting, and investigation missions with puzzles, is on sale at Green Man Gaming. It could potentially be $3.24 if you do it soon:

I assume your month starts once the key is registered. So you could hold on to the key until then.
Of course, you might hold on too long and the game will go F2P or something
