Well, I think the dickhead fox has now shown up enough to count as a recurring character, at least. But yeah, he doesn't have much of what you'd call a storyline.

I think of the fox as a Native American character called Trickster; he is represented by the coyote in local lore. He plays tricks on others just because he can. Yep, he's a dick!

Am I the only one who didn't get that, at all? Is there some niche out there of porn with psychedelic effects?

I think it's pretty obvious this strip was just Cooper playing with her graphics software.

Oh that sideburns/ mustache combo and such professional conduct. What's not to love?

I would put this girl at my #2 after Greir (I think that "The Rogue's Arsenal" really put her at the top), followed by the Mistress's guards.

Yeah, I was hoping that the kid would go against the trainer's advice and come on to the hot bathing ladies anyway, and it turn out that they weren't out of his league after all.

Actually, in the Oglaf-verse the odds were about 10 to 1 in his favor.

I don't get it. What did the trainer(s) have in mind with this strategy? How would finding your opponent attractive make you a better fighter?

If I'm following the comic correctly, not only does your opponent have to be attractive, but also out of your league. And that makes you angry.. Grrrrr

If it wasn't for the successful outcome of "The Sword Master", I'd say he was full of it.

I think the joke is supposed to be that the Swordmaster is a nut. He gives advice that makes no sense - it's a parody of the fantasy movie cliche about mentors who teach their proteges through confusing lessons that have a hidden meaning that makes sense. In the Swordmaster's case, his confusing lessons are just nonsense.

Specifically, the Swordmaster told his student to prepare for a fight by spending a month masturbating over a picture of his opponent - which is a crazy idea for winning a fight. The punchline is that the Swordmaster now plans on beating his student - so he is going to spend a month first masturbating over a picture of his student.

Trying to make rational sense out of the Swordmaster's lessons won't work. They're supposed to be irrational. It would be like trying to make sense out of Sandoval's desire to turn Ivan into a boat.

It got funnier when I realized that Wingman and Pity Date were their superhero names. But not by much.

This is my first time having seen this comic. The weirdest part of it was the water she was pouring over her head. To me, the viscosity and opacity of the water looks like the artist was more used to drawing other fluids.

I get what you're saying there, but I'm pretty sure that what you're seeing is actually the woman's hair flowing with the water.

Kind of a filler, with no comic next week.
