Quick setup: I'm a young'un still seeking his first Broadcast Journalism job. It's tough going in Nashvegas and I finally saw
this opening in Jackson, TN. It's the second opening, under
News Production. Ideally, someone here's a news producer/AP/assignment editor etc., who can tell me if I'm on the right track.
Any advice would be great, though. Names have been changed.

Dear Mr. News Director,
My name is Hung Mung. I’m a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee’s Broadcast Journalism program and I saw on WBBJ’s website, as of April 14, that you have entry level openings.
I am perfect for WBBJ because I bring excellent camera operating skills and experience with Chyron and audio direction. More importantly, I can learn any new responsibility given to me and I can master any skill WBBJ needs.
Since graduation I have kept my shooting, editing, and writing skills sharp. This summer I intend to get my Avid certification to compliment my Final Cut experience. I can step into an editing booth or an associate producer’s chair in a pinch.
News Director, I love the thrill of live television. Whether it’s in the newsroom, in the director’s booth or behind a camera or teleprompter, I love it. The pressure of live TV is always offset by the satisfaction of an excellent broadcast. That love is what I want to bring to WBBJ.
Thank you for your consideration, News Director.
Sincerely,
Hung Mung
