After 92 polls: The fact that 6,927 votes have been cast by 288 different board members for 2,479 songs still amazes me. Once again, thanks to everyone. I think it's a pretty good resource for people who may wish to check out an artist they don’t know much about & get a basic idea which tracks are most preferred by the Doper community. Because of the dynamic nature of the music industry & the date the poll was run, some tracks on new releases from artists still recording are not included. As has always been our custom, if there’s a band you’d like to see a 6@6 poll for; request it -- we’ll try & get it into the upcoming schedule. The majority of bands we’ve run polls on (and in the upcoming schedule) have been requested by other Café Society denizens. Eighth: Tentative Schedule – Something For Everyone? 1st: Have a knowledge & appreciation for the artist(s) in the poll title. 2nd: Post your 6 favorite tracks from them. Cover versions & offshoots are acceptable. Segue tracks (written to be adjoined to a song from the same album) count as one song (i.e. The Abbey Road Medley & many Zappa tracks). Try to be as accurate as possible when naming your favorite tracks. Most importantly: Due to the fact the 6@6 is confined to one weekly thread, If you’re going to vote for more than one artist please make a separate post for each artist. Week #47 - Polls 97-100: Dead Kennedys / Jello Biafra ¦ Dead Milkmen ¦ Black Flag / Henry Rollins / The Circle Jerks | D.O.A. Week #48 - Polls 101-103: Dr. John / Mac Rebennack ¦ Professor Longhair / Roy Byrd ¦ Fats ‘Antoine’ Domino Week #49 - Polls 104-108: Miles Davis ¦ John Coltrane ¦ Dave Brubeck ¦ Chet Baker | Louis Armstrong Week #50 – Polls 109-111: Bob Dylan ¦ Donovan ¦ Joan Baez Week #51 – Polls 112-114: Echo & The Bunnymen ¦ Death Cab for Cutie / The Postal Service ¦ Catherine Wheel Week #52 – Polls 115-118: Cowboy Mouth ¦ Ryan Adams/Whiskeytown ¦ Atlanta Rhythm Section | Charlie Daniels Week #53 – Polls 119-121: Depeche Mode ¦ Everclear ¦ Dishwalla Week #54 – Polls 122-124: The Eagles ¦ Don Henley/Glen Frey Solo ¦ Joe Walsh / James Gang / Barnstorm Week #55 – Polls 125-129: Emerson Lake & Palmer ¦ Electric Light Orchestra ¦ Dire Straits / Mark & David Knoplfer ¦ Dave Edmunds Lastly: 6@6 Posting Guidelines Without further ado:

I assume the fact that you're confining everything to one weekly thread is the reason that it's not going to be shut down like the last incarnation?
I'm pleased to see it's back. Next week I'll have some actual voting to do! |

I'm glad to see this back, too.
Eurythmics: Love is a Stranger Sweet Dreams (are made of this) Here Comes the Rain Again Who's That Girl? Miracle of Love Right by Your Side Those last two are there largely because I still can't quite believe they got away with them. They're awfully close to cheesy, but they still satnd up ok. |
