Is eating this brie basically like eating butter?

For lunch today and yesterday, I had two slices of brown bread, an apple, and chunk of delicious full-cream brie. Looking at the nutrition label was a bit shocking--the 28g serving, of which I probably had one or almost two, contains 12 g of saturated fat. Certainly eating gobs of butter is a disaster for your arteries--is my yummy cheese just as bad, or are there ameliorating qualities to it?
