Hamlet and Overly Sentimental - I sent you invites to the new league but they haven't been taken yet. Are you having issues joining the new league?

I'm also having some trouble filling absenses in the other leagues - got some in All-pro, HHM, and big league. Is anyone interested in playing in any of them?

The cut deadline is going to be tomorrow night at 11:59pm, so get those cuts in. The draft will start on Sunday.

Remember that you might've had players on IR at the end of the year, so your number of cuts may not be your number of draft picks. Your draft picks are always the number of empty slots below 25.

I should be in there. I changed my team name (but kept the Hamlet).

It'd be good if we can get the new owner draft wrapped up tomorrow, although no one left now is going to be in consideration for the first round of the real draft so it probably won't affect things, but it's nice to have everything deadlined and squared away.

If anyone forgot to post their cut list tonight, make sure you get it in tomorrow.

We can start the regular draft while they make the last picks of the new owner draft. If anyone hasn't made their cuts get those in asap. None of the remaining players in the new owner draft nor cuts is going too be involved in the first few picks so it shouldn't interfere.

Dale is on the clock. After you pick send a PM to the next guy up. Draft order is in the OP.

Anyone point me to the final roster for my team? Not sure where to look with the new league page. Was it posted to a thread?

The old league page. Here's your team from there:

Blake Bortles, QB, Jax
Mitchell Trubisky, QB, Chi
Jacoby Brissett, QB, Ind
Andrew Luck, QB, Ind

DeMarco Murray, RB, Ten
Alex Collins, RB, Bal
Tarik Cohen, RB, Chi
Thomas Rawls, RB, NYJ
Elijah McGuire, RB, NYJ
Dwayne Washington, RB, Det

Julio Jones, WR, Atl
Golden Tate, WR, Det
Adam Thielen, WR, Min
Danny Amendola, WR, Mia
Robert Woods, WR, LAR
Chris Hogan, WR, NE
Kenny Golladay, WR, Det
Torrey Smith, WR, Car
Chris Conley, WR, KC
Tajae Sharpe, WR, Ten

Kyle Rudolph, TE, Min
Gerald Everett, TE, LAR
Dwayne Allen, TE, NE

Ryan Succop, K, Ten
Chandler Catanzaro, K, TB

Chicago, DEF, Chi
Kansas City, DEF, KC

That's 27 players, meaning 2 were on IR.

Yep. Our draft typically only has like 60 picks or so, so it's not like you have to maintain a list of hundreds. Just google around for "dynasty rookie draft" to find lists and rankings.

Thanks. Couple more questions - How many IR spots? And if I draft a player on IR does he slot onto my roster or into IR? For example, if I've got 24 players on roster and have one more pick, and I take a guy on IR, do I have another draft pick?

Can you see this link https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/503277 ?

Not sure if it's publicly viewable. If it is then available players consists of anyone not on a roster and anyone cut in the predraft cuts in this thread.

People who draft someone knowing that person is on IR don't get an extra draft pick but once Yahoo lists them on IR they can be put in an IR slot which means you could then pick someone else up as a waiver or free agent since you'll have a free roster spot. There are 2 IR spots.

In the past we had a system where players who went on IR after they were picked would generate another draft pick at the end of the draft but people seem to dislike that system and I forgot to call a vote for it. Does anyone object to removing that system with the supplemental draft?

When I get home later or tomorrow I'll transfer keepers into the new league so it's clear who owned. I was waiting on cuts to do that.

Up to two IR spots, but they essentially don't exist until after the draft. So if you draft someone who is already on IR, you'll need to sign a free agent after the draft if you want to get back up to 25 players.

If you sign someone who gets put on IR shortly after being drafted, traditionally we've held a supplemental draft after the main draft to fill those spots. There have been complaints about the complexity of our draft, though, with the supplemental draft being seen as needless extra bookkeeping, so we may not be doing a supplemental draft this year.

I can tell you from experience that when you draft someone in the first three rounds and then days later they go on IR, it SUCKS. The supplemental draft doesn't mitigate the suck in any way. (This has happened to me two of the past three years.)

With Omniscient hopping in in these last few minutes, we should have a full slate pretty soon. That's great news!

Oh, hopefully one of the news owners will use a selection soon to decide between the 9th or 12th place draft slots. I'm sure that will happen before we get to pick 9, but just a reminder.

Here's our complete draft order, assuming Omni gets four picks, which seems like the most likely outcome that I can see from his current roster.

I think this is the biggest trade in the history of the league. I'm not finishing last this year. And, while I'm going to have a thin draft this year, I already have a bunch of younger players who are in a 'prove it' year for me.

It's going to be insane if I end up trading away the #1 dynasty RB and #1 dynasty QB in consecutive years and somehow still manage to be competitive. But Saquon is the best running back prospect I've ever seen. I keep a spreadsheet ranking every rookie with a numerical grade, and Saquon has the highest grade over the last four years by a significant margin. This move was the culmination of three years of drafts and trades, and the next six to eight years of my team's future will depend on him being as good as I think he will be.

Glad to hear that this was a bit of an outlier of a trade... I was figuring that if it was standard draft day business I might be a bit in over my head.

Nope, I've been a cellar dweller for far too long in this league, I want to be competitive and have a shot at the playoffs. We've been working on this trade for over a month. I do have a few players on my roster that I expect to step it up this season. Barkley is a stud, but an additional stud RB isn't helping me get into the playoffs this season.

Here's the rookie pool worksheet I'm using. I wouldn't normally post this, but I figured the new guys might benefit from something to look at.

This is csv data. Copy and paste it into a text document in notepad and save it with a csv extension, then double-click it to open in excel or whatever. I would then save it as an excel spreadsheet so it will save your sorting options. (I resort after each pick.)

Ok, for the moment, I'll take Tyrod Taylor last and be done. That leaves me with
Deshaun Watson, QB, Hou
Jared Goff, QB, LAR
Tyrod Taylor, QB, Cle

Duke Johnson Jr., RB, Cle
C.J. Anderson, RB, Car
Giovani Bernard, RB, Cin
C.J. Prosise, RB, Sea
Javorius Allen, RB, Bal
Jonathan Stewart, RB, NYG
Malcolm Brown, RB, LAR

Antonio Brown, WR, Pit
Davante Adams, WR, GB
Sammy Watkins, WR, KC
Josh Doctson, WR, Was
DeVante Parker, WR, Mia
Randall Cobb, WR, GB
John Ross, WR, Cin
Corey Coleman, WR, Buf
Paul Richardson Jr., WR, Was

Charles Clay, TE, Buf

Jacksonville, DEF, Jax
Baltimore, DEF, Bal

Which looks like 22 players, giving me three picks.
I suppose I can reserve the right to cut one of these guys and have a fourth round pick instead.

I can see the link to the league above.

So do you guys typically wait for the season to start before waxing eloquently about your opponent's propensity for being on the receiving end of the love overtures of a Boer goat?

Definitely not. But really only Hamlet gets that sort of attention, and only if the goat's name is "A.C.L."
