Martyrdom complex. We get it here a lot, and not always for political reasons. See GEEPERS for a recent extreme example. It often involves manufacturing incidents of persecution and malign motives in your opponents, because just being called an idiot by hundreds of people is not sufficient to get the sense of those nails being hammered in.
