Romo Lamkin, played by Mark Sheppard, on Battlestar Galactica. He only showed up toward the end of the series, and immediately became one of its most popular characters.

I also liked the guy from Twin Peaks who told his accused-of-murder brother, "I'm telling you this as your brother, because I love you. You need a better lawyer than me."

I like quirky. My two favorites have been mentioned (altyhough not enough) -- John Mortimer's Horace Rumpole (especially as portrayed by Leo McKern, who did it not only on TV but in audiobooks for at least three different publishers) and Charles Laughton's Sir Wilfrid Robarts in Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution.
To which I'd like to add Ken Howard as Puddin' Head Wilson in the 1984 TV adaptation of Mark Twain';s Pudd'n'head Wilson. Even if they did alter the story. Wilson is a great character, and one of the first lawyers in fiction to use fingerprints. |
