Marine veteran shot and killed while trying to apologize in road rage encounter

Headline is deceiving because the Marine got out of his car to "apologize", a passenger in the other car pulled out a gun, then the Marine pulled out HIS gun, and they shot and killed each other.
An armed society is a polite society. It's just that some people don't know how to accept an apology.

A tragedy, to be sure, but part of the price we all must pay for being able to kill the Bad Guys:

GRAY, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a 5-year-old shot a 2-year-old sibling at a Georgia home while playing with a gun and now the children’s uncle has been charged.

News outlets report the children found the gun in the home Wednesday and were playing with it when it discharged. The Jones County Sheriff’s Office says the 2-year-old was shot in the head and is in critical condition.

Authorities charged 18-year-old Darius Johnson with reckless conduct and theft.

Jones County Sheriff’s Captain Jimmy Black says the gun was stolen during a burglary about two weeks ago.
If only the 2-year-old could have defended himself ...

Well, you're almost right. On the right track at least. If only there had been a teacher in the room to shoot the 18 year old in the face before the baby could get killed. That is the optimum outcome (we are told).

We should immediately embark on a campaign to arm all 2-year-olds.

After all, an armed society is a polite society.

They both took out a bad guy, so aren't each of them also good guys?

I've mentioned this before, but that could have been my kids. My brother, as he was nearing the end of his life, lived with my mom. My kids were over there often. When my brother died, we cleaned out his room and found a loaded revolver under his bed. My kids loved my brother and liked hanging out in his room. Miserable fucker could have got them killed. Of all the things I hate my brother for, that's right at the top.
