Lion vs Tiger

Who won more in the past?
-
Eh everybody, so being this was one of the biggest dual's of earth's top predator's who do you think won more in the past, the eye of the tiger, or the King of the beast the Lion?
-
Please only think of these as a hypotetical situation if you voice your opinion an be respectful to other's who dont agree, an I'm searching for more of people's knowledge of past event's that way there's no parley on animal conflict's of geralizing the topic, but more of just learning of these 2 majestic beast past conflict's for educatonal purposes only.
-
I'll share some for everyone who hasent any detail's on subject so far...

With the cameras continuing to grind and getting nothing but a little harmless tug of war… Energy spent, the exhausted Bobby tried to roll away from Caesar, but Caesar's hold now was as firm as Bobby's which had been on his mane. Seeing this turn in affairs, I dashed into the cage. Already Caesar's jaws had crunched Bobby's neck and when I got there Caesar was shaking Bobby's limp, bloody head and throat from side to side. Bobby's eyes were turning starey. He was dead and it was only two minutes since I was keenly sorry that I had done it, but in thinking it over I became convinced that my part had been negligible. The lion is frequently the superior; he doubtless would have been the winner in this case no matter what I had done.”

38. The lion also is protected around the neck by the heavy mane, which is an advantage. There is one instance I remember where a full grown lion and very large tiger engaged in combat, by unforeseen chance of course. It was when the John O’ Brien Show had its winter quarters in Philadelphia and I was connected with it. “A lion and a tiger were in a compartment cage, with a partition between. In some manner this partition was battered down in the night and the two big fellow’s got together. They had probably been issuing challenges to each other and promising what they would do to one another if the chance came. When morning arrived we found the two in the lion’s cage, the tiger dead and the lion all chew and clawed to pieces, but still full of fight.”

,
NEW YORK. Nov. 2. -Tradition that the tiger is a better animal then the lion in a fight has been disproved as Sr. Nicholas Garden, where one of the biggest striped denizens of the Bengal jungles is suffering from rips and tears inflicted upon him by one of the late king of the South Africa forests. The press agent did not give this story out. Probably he would lose his job if he had, for Bostock is careful to suppress any news tending to show that his animals ever exhibit sanguinary instincts when in the arena. The two big cats in question were brought together several days ago to become familiarized with each other for purposes of a contemplated act in the show ring. The tiger walked nervously up to the lion and began rubbing his nose over the latter's haunches. A low growl was the response. But when the tiger inserted his teeth in the lion's mane, Leo uttered a roar, unmasked his ivories and crouched. The tiger retreated a few feet and then sprang high in the air, intending to come down on the lion. But Leo deftly side-stepped and when the tiger alighted he grabbed it by the head. A twisting of the teeth and a large section of the tiger's face, including one eye, was gone. The trainers and attendants now tried to separate the beasts, which for several minutes rolled over and over each other, snarling, roaring, biting and scratching. Finally they were separated. The tiger, mutilated and bleeding, cowered in a corner, while the lion was defiant in another.

-My teammates and I were transporting a male African Lion into a cage neighboring a Bengal Tigers cage in Kenya. There was a small opening in between the two cages for intermingling of neighboring animals. It was supposed to be closed at the time but someone forgot to close it. The lion sprang from the transportation container through the opening and mauled the tiger of similar size. We tranquilized the lion but it was too late. Two days later, the tiger died due to fatal wounds. It was a very one sided fight where the lion spent much time chasing the tiger.

57. But to get back to the lions and tigers, apparently it is a very hard thing to put lions and tigers together. I read that scientists say that lions have the strongest forelegs of the big cats, and they have a knack to being more ferocious. Even though tigers are heavier and longer, it's ferocity that determines a winner. Lions have all the equipment of a fighter with huge forelegs, the mane, and the stocky body. Because of the mane the male lion is a poor predator. He however has a fierce desire to defend his territory. They have been known to kill or drive off rhinos. The tiger is nervous around a male lion and cat trainers have said that this has caused problems in zoos and circuses.
The same trainers have mostly said that the male lion appears to have no fear of the tiger even in a large group of tigers. The big cat trainer Clyde Beatty lost 12 tigers to lions and didn't lose a single lion. He once had a tiger and lion fighting in a live performance and tried to stop it he couldn't and the lion went on to maul the tiger to death in front of all these people. He also had a lion he called Sultan the First and he beat ever male tiger he ever faced. There are 3 films that have been made about fights between a male lion and male tiger and in all three the lion won. 'Lion-Tiger Fight', 1930's, Castle Films (16 mm) is a short documentary about a fight between a lion and a tiger which occurred during an expedition to capture some tigers in the Gir region of India (The only place where you can find lions and tigers living together).

I'm not going to research these cites to determine if they were fair contests. But I would have relied on Clyde Beatty's observations even without them. I think it's pretty clear that male lions are evolved for the primary purpose of killing rivals and predators. Tigers are much more solitary and more likely to flee than confront. Trapped in a fight with a lion their instincts probably work against them.

However, to be fair about this, I wouldn't give a lioness a snowball's chance against a tiger.

The Tigers have clearly won more, since they play 162 games a season while the Lions only play 16.

Wow it's cool you know about Clyde beatty, but I would too give it a less chance of a lioness winning but it's not impossible, I have presented around 7 account's in that list of lioness's holding there own an killing female an even male tiger's, there's a few more I know of I can show you of minor incident's where a lioness tore up a few tiger's, but I too would more favor the tigress over a lioness, about 5.5/10 for the tigress...again it's not exculding the fact that there are record's of female lion's killing male tiger's.
-
An I wouldent want to emit Bia's ness but male lion's have just to many variable's an leverage's in the wild to have a tiger as a threat, even 1 on 1 it's still more of 8/10 for a male lion vs a male tiger. But I found maybe around 30 account's of tiger's killing lion's but 80% of those 30 consist of male tiger's killing female lion's an the male's of the 20% had no detail's on there status. But so far compared to data alone, if there's only around 30-40 account's of tiger's killing lion's an a ittle over a 100 of lion's killing tiger's as I shown above some occaision's the lion killed multiple tiger's so again, by data alone it can only be fair to place it as 8/10 time's a lion would win, the only way you'd be able to change that, is you'd have to match the 100 account's to bring it to 50/50.
-
But with out data, an just throwing thing's out there, I myself would like to think of it as fair game of 50/50 Prime male lion an Prime male tiger vs.

Indeed, though I'm confused, 90% of the site's I have researched hasent provided the main stream society with the lion's half of information, I only see site's like Wiki, wordpress, jackjacksonj, difference provide very poor data for the lion's side an cast there vote for the tiger winning upoun there very little data, it would seem so majority hint a repatwa of Bia's implemation's, I dont know but it would seem that way.
-
I mean how can can they say tiger's won more in the past when 90% of the historical artifact's potray's the lion winning, there's at-least a 100 account's I presented in that 67 list of modern battle's having the lion the winner an even in the past of ancient time's they portrayed the same thing like here...
-
Here’s a few documented Historical Artifact’s an Sculpture’s that are mostly in
museum’s, portraying the lion winning against the tiger, an each has a back story if you care to look them up and apperntly they would have to have seen the incident, to etch it or sculpture it an these are from different people from Rome, to India, to Britain, to China all portraying the same thing the lion having the winning course of 50-1,000 year old historical artifact’s here...

So again, I dont know where they can give a 8/10 for the tiger when the data contradict's that 100% it's more of 8/10 for the lion not the tiger. Hmmm, but again I guess people like to hide the truth in order to intice other's.
-
But like I said, with out data of like those^^^ I would give it a 50/50, but the data is proving of a 80/100 for the lion.

That's debate-able, but the I'm researching the more I'm finding out that the media has poor crdibilty an false claim's, but I belive that they are roughly the same size's, the tiger can just maintain being hevier more often. That dosent mean lion's cant reach any weight the tiger can, here is what site's like wiki try's so hard to conseal, the fact that they gave a 300 pound advantage on wiki speak's in how they just wanted other's to think there's a leverage, which in fact in a whole speice's tiger's only average around 430 pound's as adult's, an lion's can match the heavy hitter's as well...

I just stated my point...it was why is it 90% of the site's out there have flase an random data? Is it Properganda, or is it just bad studying, I cant pin-point it but why wasnt any data presented for the lion's side?
-
Wouldent you think that is un-fair if I showed you a Boxing man's record of like 10-0 representing the tiger an the lion's record 0-10...wont you think the average person would have just sided with the tiger just because of what you presented? Uh Huh! I would think so, but why no attempt to even keep the playing field fair? Again I only sense a purpose of intice-ing, not by educational purposes of what's factual.
-
Do you want an example of what I'm talking about? Gladly...
Now wiki stated in the catagorie Expert's 3 source's,
#1 John Varty- who said...
I’ve seen tigers crunch up a full-grown leopard tortoise like it was nothing. And lions try, but they just don’t get it right. If there’s a fight, the tiger will win, every time."
-
Now, did you know that John varty had 4 genration's of his family owning a game reserve in africa that took tourist around an shot lion's? I would think that's a hell of a thing to mention before you can assest who'd he favored, an secoundly here's lion's doing somthing he say's they cant...

You see^^^ Some expert John varty is... an goes along with the other's they alibied as in Big cat rescue, they said the team of big cat rescue, but it was only answered by 1 worker not the whole team which is way more than 300 people, an they all dident agree with that conclusion only the person who answered it, an still that person gave no specfic detail in what was the advantage. Same goes with china's source of rewilding tiger's only one person said the same thing.
-
Now, look at how poor there credability is, they have been debunked easly showing they are not creditable to answer such a question, when why did they only mention expert's for the tiger's side? When in reality there is way way more for the lion's side, you wanna see some? Gladly...

Although most ferocious under certain conditions, adults are scared silly over numerous odd things. Thunder and Lightning which a lion takes in stride, panics a tiger. Silver reflectors scare tigers, if you want to take over a room full of tigers walk in wearing a silver suit. In the movie ROAR a big siberian tiger name ivan backs down from a tiny lion cub. 35. Interesting read on Dr.Sc Giuliano Russini view on Lions and Tigers.

...African lion presents phenomena of aggressiveness which, contrary to what is thought render it more dangerous in the wild than the tiger and more difficult to manage in captivity, as observed by the zoological biologists.... This caused by overheating corporeal overheating phenomena, is in fact a handicap in case of prolonged fights, drawback not found in the lion who, as they say, “will struggle up to the death”.Same can be said for the fighting techniques, which all stand in favour of the Panthera leo ,accustomed, as it is, to face in the savannah a great variety of preys and competitors, in comparison with the solitary tiger....

41. Pound for pound lion’s are way stronger than tiger’s, this lion look’s bigger but it’s only because of the mane, both lion and tiger are about the same size, yet he still hit’s harder, also chasing off the competition as they usually do, due to dominant trait’s of the male lion…also proving a lot of expert’s correct as tiger’s only throw wildly not accurately, in this fight the tiger misses 6 time’s an mostly all other fight’s tiger’s always’s miss more than 50% fighting a lion, here…

42. people like to use this video as the tiger is winning? It only prove’s what 80% of animal trainers an expert’s say…which is tiger’s are explosive fighter’s an tire themselve’s out quickly aiding there poor stamina, but how many time’s did the tiger land any thing at all? Let’s count them 1st lunge, barly nips the mane…which lunge’s cost energy…2nd lunge, misses which cost energy…3rd lunge misses…which cost’s energy, By doing so the lion is only using superior fighting tactic’s of dodging because they hardly clinch as tiger’s do, This video prove’s the other video^^^ that tiger’s have very poor accurate swipe’s more of just swinging wind mill’s along with the end every swipe is absorbed by the mane as the tiger must reap what hit’s his head area…
http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/6757/511ak4.gif
43. 80% of swipe or bite is protected by the mane, as you can see the mane protect’s bite’s that can usually add up on a tiger, yet it has no effect on the lion in terms the lion can completely focus what he is doing which is draging around and mauling the tiger, which in the big cat fight world, every bite count’s…

I'm unclear about your goal here. You have done a gazillion times more work re this somewhat offbeat topic than anyone I have ever heard of.... ever. You have assembled what appears to be the majority of data in the universe about his topic.

I think it's time for you to publish.

This tiger was captured in India and went against a lion after being in captivity for only few days. Don't tell me that these few days changed the tiger's behavior in which it could not deliver a fatal neck bite.
It was the Tiger's fight and he knew it. He sprang at the staggering Lion, took a fearful chop on the nose without flinching and set his teeth into the African's hairy throat. They wrestled desperately, and the Lion's heavy mane saved him from suffocation. Great mouthfuls of long coarse hair catching in the Tiger's teeth not only preventing him from getting a death grip, but so interfered with his with his respiration that he had to release the hold, where upon the Lion swatted him with a tremendous uppercut and sent him tumbling twenty feet away.

The lion's mane, not possessed by the female, is evidently such a weapon of defense; it is a excellent means of protection against the bites which the male lions try to inflict on each other's necks when fighting for the females; consequently those males with the strongest manes have the greatest advantage in the sexual struggle.

“Down sprang Caesar, determined to seize the offensive, but before he could do so, Bobby had battled his way through Caesar's paws, grabbed his mane so stubbornly that he couldn't move. For the next couple of minutes each struggled and strained for an advantage, but Bobby's hold was so tenacious that they only succeeded in twisting a little.

If so, it is conceivable that a single male lion attacked by a pack of hyenas could reduce injury with the help of its mane. Manes protect males in interaspecific in other species. It may additionally confer advantages by limiting wounding in the neck region.

The mane plays an important role in the lion’s life. While a long mane that blows easily in the wind may be difficult to hide when hunting an alert zebra, it is a distinct advantage in defense… That same mane gives his neck a good bit of protection in case the intruder does not turn away and chooses to challenge the resident lion for his position.

Male lions are larger than females and possess a voluminous mane which contrast with the sleek pelage on other parts of the body… The distinctive colors and sizes of manes may also help animals to identify individuals. An important secondary function of the mane is one of protection during fights. The dense mat of hair absorbs blows and harmlessly tangles claws in a part of the body towards which most social contact is directed; bites too, may leave an opponent with a mouth full of hair rather than skin.

There is no direct evidence, but if we examine the probabilities in the case of a confrontation between the two some inferences can be drawn. In a fight would de unable to get close to the vital joint of a lion’s neck because of his thick mane, but the tiger is vulnerable to the lion. The film showed that the tiger was at an immediate disadvantage. Tigers use a throat grip as their primary means of killing and the lion's thick protective mane prevented the tiger gaining a hold on the throat joint. On the other hand, the tiger had no special protection, so was vulnerable to attack. In this fight, the tiger was killed. In any inter-species confrontation lions would also have the advantage of the who pride. But in my opinion a tiger is no match even for a single lion of equal strength. I believe I’m fully qualified to state, as I’ve had them both on me. I bear the teeth marks of a lion that shut his jaws tight on my legs. But it isn’t the teeth of the big cats trainers fear so much. It is the claws, being hooked, tear out the flesh and sinew as they are withdrawn. When a lion goes at a trainer he starts right towards him, with no subterfuge, mouth open and tail as stiff as a poker. A tiger cringes and crawls until he makes his spring. In a fair fight it would be hard to guess which animal would come off victor, and much would depend, I think on the one that got the first good hold. The lion also is protected around the neck by the heavy mane, which is a huge advantage.

There is one instance I remember where a full grown lion and tiger engaged in combat, by unforeseen chance of course. It was when the John O’ Brien Show had its winter quarters in Philadelphia and I was connected with it. “A lion and a tiger were in a compartment cage, with a partition between. In some manner this partition was battered down in the night and the two big felloes got together. They had probably been issuing challenges to each other and promising what they would do to one another if the chance came. When morning arrived we found the two in the lion’s cage, the tiger dead and the lion all chew and clawed to pieces, but still full of fight.”

Your citation list is impressive to say the least. I heaven't looked at any of them because my computer only has 4 gigs of RAM and started screaming when I forced it to load this thread.

That said, tiger by a mile. There is no way a lion could beat a tiger in a cage match. My cite is some Mutual of Omaha stuff I saw in the 1970's plus observations in more than a few zoos and TWO different circuses. There is simply no way a lion is going to open up a can of whoop-ass on a tiger. The only things that can beat a tiiger in a cage match are a liger which is half tiger and half lion but kick-ass bigger than either of them, a polar bear, or a gladiator with a lover waiting. That is the real answer.

But with out data, an just throwing thing's out there, I myself would like to think of it as fair game of 50/50 Prime male lion an Prime male tiger vs.
"Bring 'em Back Alive" Clyde Beatty was once very well known. He was a long time animal trainer and had many observations about big cat behavior. But almost all of that was with captive animals, as is the case with many of your cites. These cats would have likely been overweight which may be a big disadvantage to the longer bodied tiger. Keeping captive cats well fed was a safety measure. Clyde's appraisal of tigers was that they were quicker than lions, and better coordinated being able to use both front paws in an attack while lions would fight 'one handed'. But as I mentioned before, and noted in some of your cites, a lion is naturally more ferocious and dangerous, very territorial, and evolved for the purpose of attacking it's foes. Lions also have a protective mane, and are more compact and densely muscled. Although neither animal is extremely intelligent compared to the brainiacs of the animal world, they were apparently clever enough to escape often. I recall Clyde found tigers more clever and dangerous to humans. Tigers also are at a disadvantage because they are more ambush hunters than lions are, who have to chase down their prey more often. They have just evolved differently.

One gun magazine long ago said the Romans in the Coliseum never bet on lion:tiger matches because the tiger almost always wins. Reason given was the tiger is a better two-pawed fighter while the lion delivers single jabs and hooks. But seeing so many Tarzan shows, I realized this wasn't true. The lion is a two-pawed brawler, even on his back (better than any ugly-faced MMAer.)

But then, tigers tend to be bigger. The record for a biggest cat from the wild was a Siberian tiger (975 pounds?) This, however, is not an absolute record. The Guiness cited a number of cage-fat lions and tigers exceeding 1,000 pounds.

lol My bad, I just cant seem to shake it off, it's kinda like a must have already...I'll try an not include so much.... maybe. lol

But I was intreseted in the fellow's accumiltion's of 2 circuses the tiger has won above you, I know of 30 the tiger has won, but that still isint anywhere close to the 100 the lion has won, so if I beat you up in the octagon 7 time's an you only win 3 what make's you think other's would favor you as the better fighter? I dont know, but you are entitled to your own opinion an I comend you for it.

But I too would give it a 50/50 in the cage match, but in the wild not so much. The fact is lion's live either in Pride's or coalition's. The biggest Pride ever recorded was 9 brother's that shared 22 female's...So the tiger still has to oblige by the Golden rule as any other predator that face's the Pride...which is if the whole pride see's you your ownly chance is to run, an even that's not a garentee. You see^ lion's live in coalition's an I proved with a little more than a 100 account's 1 on 1 a lion has already been able to kill a tiger, so in just sheer number's a tiger in the wild of africa dosent fair well at all in a lion's territory, unless this is like some sort of super tiger stealth ninja, that pick's off the Pride one by one, but in africa it probably would be alot more easyer to conseal the lion more so the tiger, the tiger would be crouching down in a "gold" bush an be like....wait for it.....an the lion would be walking pass an say Hey! Word an text of recording's is creditable of course, but nothing beat's video pal, an to my knowledge there isint a single video of a tiger killing a male lion not 1, while there's 3 for the lion, #1 is Gir forest, #2 The big cage with Clyde Beatty, #3 is That asian zoo where the teen's mauled the adult tiger. An the kicker is there's a little above 10 account's of lion's killing tiger's in the wild of India, while there's no record's of such for the tiger winning a clean account documented like the Velar account where a wild lion killed a wild tiger at the Gange's river in India.

-
It's very awesome for you to have looked into an read about Clyde beatty, he would be one of the most top ranking people to get an opinion from, for if you read his book's by no mean's did he ever try an hide the true power of the tiger an comended ton's of his tiger's when they took over the individual fight's with his lion's. He favored alot what you just said in the tiger, but I do remember a few of his wording's from his book saying he often liked to use wild animal's because it made the show better, but majority of them I assumed weree captive.
-
But to your 2 paw stance is absolutly correct, but the tiger more so focuses on balancing which diminshes alot of the out-put power of each blow, whie the lion can fight with 2 paw's he prefer's to use 1 an fight's in a 3 point stance, which funnel's all there power into haymaker shot's which in term's are more accutrately timed, while the tiger kinf of just throw's in the form of a paniced fighter...Mabel stark's has claimed this as well, although she favored the tiger more, she also implemented that tiger[s were deeply afraid of thunder an silver reflector's 2 thing's that a lion greet's with open raor's, though lion's have there own phobia's as well, they are not so intreeged by water while the tiger live's 30% of there live's bathing in, hunting in, playing in an such.
-
But again, very good to see another person not only intrested in the outcome but the document's an other's who lived, trained an studyed both an also keep's an open mind...not just voice-ing an opinion on a Bia's assumption, for I said too the data show's it's a 8/10 but anything can happen, so I like to be respective to both with having there own leverage's an deem it a 50/50 it it's the normal male vs male. average.

Why thank you. I invented awesomeness, you know. But I don't practice it very often.

You really have to do something about your spelling and punctuation. That stuff usually doesn't bother me much, but your posts are barely readable. Just slow down a little, eh?

lol Doodly noted, I often tend to rush an it suck's that there's no edit window beyound 10 minute's or so, or I would have corected them at first glance, so maybe the preview option will come in handy I guess.
-
But I guess I'll have to share a peice of my finding's that will not be pleasent, which is false an faked data I found these past searching's for both side's of account's...I really dont know why people would go to great length's to conseal what I have provided an even worse create fake onformation for better intice-ing what they more favor...here's a few faked account's I found...

Exploited and faked account’s and bullcrap leverage’s

#1.Everland of white tiger killing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3P3sptnCUI
Now first of all, the article say’s the lion was new, which is bullcrap… that lion is named cameron who was with that zoo since he was a cub and came in with that tigress named Zabu who are now with big cat rescue.
-
Now look at these picture’s of them playing, an tell me exactly how is the camera man suppose to have get that picture he took at that distance before the people who patrol the zoo’s with there car’s always’s broke up fight’s hundred’s of time’s? And how’s this camera man suppose to get that shot at that persice moment it happened when the distance are so flush and looks as the exact distnace as these right here…

one picture frame away… does it look familiar? XD XD
http://www.pictures-of-cats.org/imag...n-21608800.jpg Oh what’s that is that a name I see on the top corner of the page.

Huh! That’s right caught in the act, I’m a landscaper and ground’s keeper for 8 year’s and studyed the biology of hundred’s of different grasses, and the grass in the picture with the so call death and Cameron’s and zmabu collection of picture’s are the same. I even emailed everland’s resort and they stated that, that never happened and cameron the lion is still alive today. You don’t belive, then here, here’s there contact email and phone number to get a hold of them, yourself…
http://www.everland.com/MultiLanguag...uce/intro.html
-
#2 Here’s another tiger fanatic lying punk, who said there was 6 lion’s used on 1 tiger Huh! Really 6, give me a break, here it is…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GXoKnG4ksY
-
Here’s a person graphing all the tiger’s showing just like a human’s finger print, no tiger has the same stripe’s, showing there was indeed 3 lion’s vs 3 tiger’s like the real movie’s narrirator said.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBdpiIxMnMM
Ive seen the original video, it had nothing to do with them fighting it was a documentaion of all the animal’s of india, and none on youtube have the original, which suppose to have a narrirator talking, stating that beside’s all the animal’s they descirbed for the fight scene the lion’s and tiger’s that fought the tiger’s couldent land a death grip and gassed them selve’s out. But lion #2 mauled the big male tiger.
-
#3Another one is junglar the fighting tiger who killed 31 lion’s. this is a fake account and a missprint. First there was an article that had numbering’s of junglar killing them with the number’s 31, after I confronted the guy who showed it, I told him I read 4 document’s of junglar an they stated he didn’t fight any lion’s he was famous for killing a lot buffalo’s and was the first tiger who brought down a rhino, who a few tiger’s failed to do. Who also he killed a few other tiger’s and said it must have been a misprint because I know the king of oude had very few lion’s.
-
This mook then stated I was lieing, and showed a revised one saying in wording, look now…. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wt35viKeC4...c/s1600/j3.jpg It say’s thirthy one lion’s in wording’s you cant misprint letter’s, and I’m lieing about the what I’m saying. XD XD Then I said you were caught in the act because when you revised the new one that said wording’s of the number’s the date you edited it was still there an this one has a different name from junglar to gunga … an I said okay here’s where it state’s the King of oude had only 3 lion’s, here…
www.abaa.org/books/297312243.html - 14k
www.amazon.com/Private-Life- Eastern -King -Nussir.../1108046703 - 178k

http://books.google.com/books/about/...d=c2wBAAAAQAAJ
http://books.google.com/books?id=EDf...ed=0CDsQ6AEwBA
-
In those site’s and those book’s, they state the King of oude had only 3 lion’s it look’s almost uncanny that he just put 1 after 3 to make 31, than changed it in another to wording’s to make it look lgeit and after confronting him with the real document’s he never replyed back hmmm…I wonder why? XD
-
#4 Jackjacksonj site had claimed he had 367 account’s I mixed and matched all the account’s and he had only 30 that mean’s he leid on 330 account’s, which I posted the answer sheet you can go threw on this very page also on his site I left all the one’s he lied on in his guest book and blog. that tiger did NOT win sixty battles, and the pic does not state he kiled them. here is the FULL quote;

Public Opinion: A Comprehensive Summary of the Press Throughout the World on ... - Page 760
1899

At least, fifty or sixty battles were fought victoriously by him with nearly as
many different seals who coveted his position ; and when the fighting season ...

and, here is the link, in case you don`t believe me;
http://books.google.com/books?um=1&s...es+were+fought
-
You see ^^^ that’s how he merged 2 different article’s to make this…
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...2a372e026f.jpg
That’s why after the word’s there are three dot’s like this {…} showing they are not in the same article which this is the article he changed 1 account into 60 from, here
http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c227/snider_/ay2.jpg
-
Now in this site he claim's he has 367 account's of lion's killing tiger's, I noticed his account #4 was also repeated in his #88 an #352. They are the same account, so exact that even the mispelled word's are exact, he just changed the head line of the article to swap the date's. He would have gotton away with it, if he hadent put the fake account #4 with the real account #352 on the same site.
-
So I said to my self, if a person was going to lie on 60 account's in 1 crack, would he lie on other's??? Absolutly. So I craked open a 12 pack of good oh budweiser an told myself GAME ON!!! For hour's I mixed an matched all his so call 367 account's, to find only 30 account's. The rest were repeat's of the same account, only opinion's which had no fight's an faked account's. The only 30 had 80% of smaller female lion's being killed by bigger male tiger's, which dont count, we all know the male lion's are the fighter's an junglar aka gunga has been exploited showing the king of oude had only 3 lion's not 31.
-
#5 The same fool named Ptigirs who made the account of 6 lion’s with Gir has many account’s on you tube, here’s another one of his faked one’s of being a lion hater…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eqWZJtdhCc
-
And here’s the real account he changed the wording’s from…
` http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyOG0SYNmjA `
Even saying that the lion’s were african…, leo presica is the closer relitaive to the barbary lion which astiatic lions have 70% more chance’s to grow belly mane’s due to the indian humidity of dense forest’s which the male’s in the gir video had belly mane’s, It is rare for african lion’s to ever grow belly mane’s, here’s example’s of how the asiatic and african lion look differ…
African lion's no belly mane, an barly look's like the gir video fight lions...

#6 Ton’s of people use Prison of the harem with performing acting lions and tiger’s as an account, which say’s the tiger killed the lion, http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LHRQksxjax...faasdfadsf.JPG
XD That’s only people reading the story’s plot, that the tiger killed the lion,, he didn’t actually die, it was only a scene for the movie no lion’s were ever killed for any movie. Only the movie the big cage, had 3 tiger’s die, one was bobby the tiger the star for the movie and other 2 were suppose to have been the star of defeating the lion ceasar, for the scrpit the director wanted a tiger winning…but the first 2 tiger’s died so fast that there wasent any footage to be recorded, but Bobby was the one who was aired in the movie, who Cesar killed. Shown in this article shown 3/4th’s the way down this page here…
http://wildanimalelite.yuku.com/topi...ccounts?page=1
Clyde beatty was asked in general who beat’s who, which he stated lion’s would gang up on tiger’s though only if they are intermidiate family member’s… like brother’s or son’s and father’s, in many other article’s he state’s lion’s are exlellent free for all fighter’s where tiger’s cant handle the pressure of those bout’s, also the big cage exhibition for the movie was 1 on 1 in demand from the director, not clyde beatty who is only the trainer, who stated he actually dident want the fight in many article’s, but if he dident take the role some other person unexperinced, would have gotton killed.
-
#7 More tiger killed lion B.S faked acount's...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCBErSJ6h5U
#8 Ankara incident 2011 bullshit account it wasn’t a male tiger it was a female it dient even happen in 2011 it happened in 2010 september 4th.
-
#9 The big cage movie, people said it was a female tiger, clyde beatty the person who trained those lion’s an tiger’s said his name was Bobby as in a guy’s name Bobby vs Ceasar here’s a pic of the male tiger as you can see it’s a male what do male’s have female’s don’t? Ball’s….. lol

-
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g4...4285694_1d.jpg
- http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g4...Lion-Tiger.jpg
An here’s a person who work’s at the zoo, claiming there was no fight^^^
PATHETIC!
-
#10 Roman time’s by Martial Peter’s, every fanatic site say’s martial peter’s said tiger’s won in the roman arena’s, which is bullshit he only mentioned one account of a tigris killing a male lion, an he used the word’s unexpected an un-heard of in any era, so it mean’s there was only one account of a tiger killing a lion in the arena in his era….he did not say every time like tiger fanatic’s twisted his word’s here’s his ephigram’s that show’s his wording;s on page 15…

And honestly, I do hope you give your data to someone who can format it and present it better than you have.
It is an immense amount of data and you have obviously done your homework, but the vast panoply of information overwhelms rather than edifies.

I kindly (and I do mean kindly ) recommend an editor.

You need to do much more. Use a word processor to spell check and grammar check your posts. Use the insert link icon on highlighted descriptive test for your links. Don't throw so many links into each post. Sort them out and address smaller sets of them in each post. Your spelling looks intentionally incorrect, that's just pointless unless you are making a point about spelling. Seriously, I don't usually mind this stuff, but your posts rattle my eyes.

lol Nah, I'm just lazy, I can spell but I just rush an really dont care all that much, an english isint my native language, so you'd have to bare with me on that, if you were to come where I live people would be scratching there head's when you talk or laugh.
-
But I dont think there that much, they are in catagorie form, so they cover one thing at a time, you'd be able to read them faster than a magazine or book, again your just looking for the key point's not the intire book of what I presented. I had spell checker but this PC is to old, again my other PC broke down so you'd have to bare with it. I like how they are formated because they are in catagorie form I'm not just spweing out random link's, an if you find any broken one's then please do tell me, because that's the last thing I want is false or not working links.

What does XD mean?

Here's a hint - do not use apostrophes when you're making something plural. Lion and lions, tiger and tigers. Do you the apostrophe when something is possessive: lion's mane. Use spellcheck.

However, if English isn't your first language, I give you props for being able to research and collate so much documentation in a foreign language. I certainly couldn't do as well as you have.

Compose your post on a word processor, then paste it into the edit window. It's what I always do with long posts, that way they don't get eaten by lions and tiger and bears and stuff, as well.

So basically a thousand Views in just 2 days? Hmm, not bad for a Forum...not bad at all.
-
lol, at-least people could read threw my poor illistrations but some awesome creditable data on subject...because reguardless of how many details people scaned threw, I'm sure the average person just wanted to know who had killed the other more, not quite what I wanted to presure an emit, but at-least the thousand of people weather a tiger fan, lion fan or both can have a bit more knowledge an credability than what wiki left out.
-
With just the end result at-least it kinda puts the consealing attempt of so many sites of degrading the lion... has this data putting the lions true history back into the seats of a good debate, if not a blow out debate...XD XD...But as I said before, as much as I like sharing information, I also like learning, so if anyone has anything thats not in this small list, feel free to add them in for both sides of the debate.

I was going to suggest Wikipedia (they actually have such an article entitled Tiger Versus Lion) and then I wondered if the OP was the same anonymous editor who requested amendments to that article only a few days ago

No problem, which section would you like a better explaination in first I have them in catagorie forms so exactly which catagorie would you like by feed back on?

I know everything by heart already, its all pretty much intended in my head, so any question shouldent be hard to cover.

How is that possible not to understand something as simple as what I asked? Its as simple as making a peanut butter an jelly sandwhich...lol All I asked was to post some not all...of the data to better inphinsize both can reach up to 900 pounds an both have killed the other, not just the tigers side and hide-ing the lions...sound's to me like this A- hole is just hyped up to conseal the truth.

But I guess I can try an explain to this person one more time nice an slow what should be posted, if he dosent want to, then that explains alot of the status of that web page's credibilty which is moded by a fanatic.

Well since I cant edit the list, I'll just add it in this way...but I found aorund 5 more lions that reached the 800-900 pound ranges so, it looks like the lion is catching up, I still feel its more common to have a tiger maintian being hevier more often, it just makes sense, #1 when they kill something they can sit down an eat it all themselves an not have to fight over rank who gets what out of the dead animal which sometimes most dont get to eat that much, they will have to wait there turn until the brutes are finished, unless they kill an elephant, which still some prides get to be as big as 30, so thats only a few days worth. Also the heat of africa is one of the hottest places on earth, so they have there fat striped off them into pure muscle, while bengals live in swampy areas an Siberians need the extra fat to survive harsh winter blizzards, but all in all lions can get just as big as any tiger...so heres that extra 5 lions that made it pass the 800-900 pound range to add to the list...

My Lord, there's a simple way to settle this. You should fight a lion, and then a tiger. That way you'll have first-hand knowledge of which is the better fighter.

After that, if you feel up to it, you can fight a bear and your research will be complete.

Well the fact is, the lion is designed completly different from other cats, it has a social pattern which no other cat has, has a battle mane which no other cat has, an is differ from other cats, which they arnt to fond of water like all other big cats, I mean if theres anything to be ranked in higher archy of there survival upoun earth is they would dominate any carnivore/omnivore excepts humans...just because they are one of the biggest an baddest an have the luxery of the Pride for a fall back, albiet no other cat can say that, Puma's, Jaguars, tigers, lynx, cheetahs, leopards, bob cats, ect ect all live alone until mating an early bonding but the lion more so resembles humans of unity as in Kingdoms, Empires, Countrys States, ect ect...no matter what size or superiorty there enemys might have, there unity an singlairty would deem them the win every time, so with out further a due...

Well...If they wanna brag on idioc things such as weights, lol lions rutinely can take down Hippos an last time I checked they average 5,000 pounds as adults easy, an they can tip the scales at 8,000-10,000 pounds at max, so thats almost 3x the size of any guar on average or at max, I dont know if theres any abundentcy of tigers killing big boys like these...

Fourth hippo killed.
The five male lions coalition (Notch & sons) killed a Hippo near Rekero last night. I found them this morning feeding ont he hippo, thouhg Notch himself had already eaten and was sleeping in teh shade about a hundred metres fro teh carcass.
As the morning sun started getting hot, the lions left the carcass one by one untill only one was left and this one decided to guard the carcass from teh Hyaenas that were waiting around.
While watching this, some four Buffalo bulls came towards the carcass. Tehy soon picked teh scent of the lions and they started charing at two males that were sleeping in the bush, driving them away from the vicinity of the carcass, although Notch was spared since he was a bit further. The Buffaloes left breifely before coming back and started chasing the lions again around. This time they went upto the carcass and drove away the one that was watching over it, and drove them away including Notch.
After this drama which lasted half of the morning, the Buffaloes gave up and left the lions to continue with feast. This is the fourth Hippo we have seen recently killed by the five. It seems they are now tunring to the Hippos since there is not much else to hunt.

Besides isolated cases of Hippo predation by Lions their main threat is from humans. That said there is a pride of Lions in northern Botswana that used to prey on Hippo regularly. The majority of Hippo / predator interaction is from Hippo defending their territories from roaming predators.

An in terms of feats, well... I never heard of a tiger or tigers take down an elephant, dispite that indian elephants are almost 2x smaller than an african elephant, but it is pretty much known by any native to africa that lions can take it uopun themselves to take on these titans called elephants weather its threw unity of the entire Pride, or single handedly bowsing a feat of a lone male lion bringing down juvi elephants stil, outweighing any indian elephant whos basically 2/3rds at best the size of a african elephant, whiocb the record for a single lion to have brought down a juvi elephants weight was 12,000 pounds thats typically the average weight of an adult indian elephant, an theres no records of a tiger accomplishing that, so it looks like the lion also trumps the tiger in the catagorie of feats, like here...

Lion Predation on Elephants in the Savuti, Chobe National Park, Botswana

A pride of lions killed one elephant every three days. Seven of eight elephants killed were between four and 11 years old, as deduced from molar teeth ageing, and this age group represented over half the kills recorded by Joubert ( 2006 ).. Notes are presented on the lion's behaviour in hunting elephants and the evolutionary significance of this.

.The Lions of Savuti: Hunting with the Moon records something like 15 years of observations, and even in 1990 the Jouberts were estimating that about 20% of the Savuti lion's diet was made up of elephant.

http://scienceblogs.com/tetrapodzool...opredators.php

..males amounted to 236 confirmed attempts versus 38 for females!). They adopted a special hunting style that they use for other dangerous large prey animals, attacking from the back by ambush. And during all these hunts (which totaled 74 kills out of 323 attempts) only one lion was confirmed injured. The paper doesn't say how serious the injury was, or if it
was eventually fatal,

http://johnhawks.net/weblog/reviews/...tion_2006.html

..The two Lionesses had just brought down an elephant cow of approximately ten
years old.

One thing is clear, the lion or pride has no problem taking down elephants age4-15 in front of healthy bulls or cows, also.....Hunts were less commonly attempted on calves ,the same applies to rhinos.

Lions rarely prey on elephants. Botswana's Savuti lions, however, switch to preying on elephants during the late dry season (August-November), and the frequency of this has increased in the last two decades (1985–2005). An opportunity to document this phenomenon was made possible with infrared viewing and filming equipment. A pride of 30 lions killed one elephant every three days. Seven of eight elephants killed were between four and 11 years old, as deduced from molar teeth ageing, and this age group represented over half the kills recorded by Joubert ( 2006 ). It is suggested that this weaned, maternally less dependent age class, may be more vulnerable to lion predation. Lions prey on elephants since the density of conventional ungulate prey is reduced as a result of an annual migration, and artificial water provisioning has prompted an increasingly sedentary population of elephants. Notes are presented on the lion's behaviour in hunting elephants and the evolutionary significance of this.
