Well I can do this Friday. Gotta be in the area anyway at around 8ish, so I can swing by for a while, say hi, have a drink or four. Cannot go next Friday, as I have a date with Nate Silver. Booyah! Well, okay, I have a date with this guy I know, but we're going to go see Nate Silver. Some not-so-stealth bragging for ya about something completely lame.

I took a day off work today to make sure I'd be able to get downtown and obviously won't be doing that again.

Ok, let's keep it tonight as originally scheduled. We can always organize another one in the spring for those who can't make it. I'll be carrying a copy of the reader, and make sure it is at the table once we are seated to make it easier to find us.

We were scheduled for 6, but I'll be there probably closer to 630 or so. Does that work for everyone ? We will have separate checks, can stay as long as people want, we'll be there until past 8 so the later people can stop by

Okay, well I can show 6:30 or 7:00ish. You'll all have the horrible, horrible misfortune of seeing me for maybe an hour and a half, then I have to hit the road to get raucously drunk.

It was pretty cool...except for that one lady who kept touching everybody. Ewww.

But I kid. It was fun, and only very slightly reminiscent of a scene from Archer.

I sort of wonder if a dodgeball game broke out after I left. Or if anyone made it to the open bar that was being discussed. Or at least the two-for-one shots.

If nothing else, I've learned that lemon pepper works really well on fish and chips. Props to the Galway on that one.

ETA: I just thought of a title for the evening - A City of Two Dales.

Great time, a lot of fun meeting everyone.
This morning, my head was pounding...like that's unusual for a Saturday.

No dodgeball or two-for-one rail calls last night. No karaoke either but they would be fun.

True facts: Lochdale literally charmed my pants off. PS: Has anyone seen my pants?
MeanOldLady met barely a third of my expectations based on username.
Number wasn't kidding about the hat but, trust me, the cat can sing.
