Ray Bradbury Theater, was it any good?

I didn't know this show existed until today, was it any good?

The relative obscurity of it makes me concerned.

Five year old me thought it was very interesting and very scary. My grandma, whom I watched it with, as well as my 7 year old sister, also enjoyed it and watched it religiously. But then we were equally impressed with the Hitch Hiker and Alfred Hitchcock presents, which came on after and before, respectively.

In reality, I cannot remember enough except being horrified at the one involving a guy who wanted to get rid of his bones. I'd say scrounge up a couple of episodes and see for yourself.

i recorded a few eps on vhs years ago, it was reasonably well done, on a par with most of those kind of shows. I think i read something about it being released on dvd.

I remember it fondly. Most episodes were very good indeed. The writing was great. The acting was good to great. The special effects sometimes left something to be desired.

Stowed Bob I can't remember the name of that episode. But, I do remember that it starred Eugene Levy.

I vaguely remember it, and liked it at the time. The "Marionettes, Inc." episode was nicely creepy. Haven't seen any of the episodes in years.

It's funny, no that I think back on it the only episode I remember off the top of my head is Banshee. Peter O'Toole starred and Bradbury was inspired by when he met John Houston in his castle in Ireland when Bradbury was writing the Moby Dick screenplay. I do remember liking the show.

I remember "Banshee," too! O'Toole was very good in it. The bit that stuck with me was him reading the draft screenplay and letting it drop, page by page, to the floor.

I loved it, and am considering buying the DVDs someday when I have money. It was a pleasure, when reading the Bradbury anthology I have, to realized I already knew most of the stories.

Stowed Bob, that one was "Skeleton." At least that's the name of the story. "Gotcha!" was my favorite ever, and the story is flat out amazing.

I remember liking it but I liked all of those Sci Fi/horror anthology series.
