Sending good thoughts your way, rosie. I hope things work out the way you need and want them to work out.
Yesterday was a looooong day. We drove over six hundred miles round trip to pick up my son from college. However, the drive was pretty and we listened to a book on CD during the trip so that kept us occupied. We saw two accidents and a coyote that came damn close to causing an accident because it ran across the highway in front of cars. We also a SUV completely engulfed in flames at a rest stop. Through the smoke and flames, we could see there wasn't much left of the vehicle except for the frame. Today promises to be another busy day as there is talk of going to breakfast, along with a run to the hardware store to buy a couple of things and switch out propane tanks for the grill. On top of that, a run to the butcher shop is anticipated along with a run to the grocery store to pick up the fixings for pasta salad. Finally, there's a slew of yard work that needs doing. I need another weekend day; this weekend has been jam packed and I know I'm going to be worn out tomorrow. |

I'm alive. I think I still have some liver left in my cirrhosis.
Good luck on the house, rosie. |

Good luck with the house, rosie and well done on salvaging something from your liver, Doggio!
We have spent a large part of the day walking around the zoo looking at lots of fun animals and wishing the fence around the lions and tigers was a bit lower so we could have lobbed the really annoying whiny children in there. On the way there we bought limes and on the way back we bought rum so there will be a variety of cocktails on the go tonight. Good job I don't have to go to work tomorrow. I've also planted out some potatoes in tubs in the garden and potted my pepper seedlings into a bigger pot. I am going to veg on the sofa with a cup of tea now, and then it'll be time to decide what to cook for dinner tonight.

I've decided to waste the day. We had a nice breakfast at Lenny's, then ran to WalMart for some glasses-cleaning spray, down to FCD's office to get something he needs for this trip, then to check on the boat. He's getting ready to start packing and I've decided the garden can wait till tomorrow. I just don't want to deal with it. So I won't.
Instead, I'll watch Netflix and crochet. It's nice being an adult and being able to make such decisions.

That sounds like a wonderful opportunity, rosie. Reminds me of when I saw my house the first time. Happened to walk by it on the way to the library and it pretty much called out to me. I actually called the owners and got a tour the next day. Conveniently, Local Best Friend's then-boyfriend worked for a mortgage company and got me a very nice deal. And I've lived haopily ever after.
![]() I've finished cleaning the office and made significant headway cleaning out the bedreoom. Brother cleaned the living room and dining room and we've each worked on our bedrooms. Also, I've done some laundry. Next I'll plant some bulbs (dahlias, leopard alms, and something else I've forgotten. Then it's down to the basement to do further clean up. Also going to drop off some recycling and donations. Yay! I could use another day of weekend as well. Hugs all. GT |

My sweetie is on his way. I just talked to my mom (oh, my aching ears - she can talk...) and I had some leftover pizza. Perfectly lazy afternoon! Next step is to assume the crochet position in front of the TV and be a bum for the rest of the day. Yay!

My sweetie just called - he just got to Johnstown. I just finished watching Flowers in the Attic on our free On Demand channel - what a creepy movie!! I'm thinking about what to do for supper, altho I'm not all that hungry. Maybe I'll just have some cheese-n-crackers.
It's boring here. I miss my sweetie.

Not about me - my family is pretty tame, all things considered.
But many years ago I had a close friend from work. He was married, two kids, the whole domesticated life scene going on. So I was absolutely floored when he told me that he had not one, but TWO other families: one in the Philippines (two kids) and one in Hong Kong (one kid), but from -after- he had gotten married. He wasn't married to either of the other two women, but still needed to send child support etc. Of course it all caught up to him and he he had to go through a very messy, expensive divorce when the mistress (?) from the Philippines tracked him down at his home and woke the entire family up at 10pm, kid in tow. He has since moved to Hong Kong to live with....yet another woman from the Philippines. Apparently he felt his life wasn't complicated enough... We don't talk much any more.... |

I'd like to add:
my 21-year-old sister has had problems with opiates for the last 5 years and ODed about 5 times; I recently discovered my father is at the least bisexual (which he may not have been in the past; he had a massive brain injury about 10 years ago and it's possible this affected his sexuality) because my youngest sister discovered he's been using Craigslist for casual sexual encounters with men; my aunt was schizophrenic and killed herself on a hiway; my great-grandmother probably had OCD and spent lots of time in and out of mental hospitals due to breakdowns involving paranoid delusions; But I still don't think I beat Mississippienne. There's rather a lack of murderers/criminals in my family (thank god!) |
