Only a day or two but I have a lot to catch up on!
In case no one knows, I am a bit of a gamer, in the online MMO sense. Also in the 'Slowest leveller in the whole gaming world'. I am a Dawdler. Anyhoo, had my head buried in Guild Wars 2 this weekend, and it's been fun.

Today we went to nana's and brought Mouse the puppy so he could see his mom and siblings, from whom we've taken him for a week. He was excited, they all sniffed him and told him he smelled like CAT, and they played.

Then the earthquakes started. And, they haven't stopped, lol. Biggest ones so far were a 5.1, followed immediately by a 4.9. Not enough to do damage, but nana lost some purty dishes out of the hutch. Luckily, the hutch didn't fall, because THAT would be some REAL damage.
And of course all 6 of their dogs are freaking the hell out, including two dogs that qualify as horses among most folks; they are now locked in the laundry room, as they were previously seen trying their hand at scaling the 6'2 inch fence. Thing is, they were about to do it, they were just THAT scared. Poor pups.

Our cats are under the bed, and that is a good place for them. Our Mouse puppy is pretty much napping through it all; he seem not worried it all, just stretches and rolls over when the ground starts shaking. Which is good, cause we're getting rolling temblors every few minutes. I've got the cupboards secured, and AC off, since in this house it's on the roof and I'd rather not exacerbate damage if it decides to shake off. Or something. I dunno, I'm not from around here!

See all that red? Lol, that's just the last HOUR. It's crazy.

Oye.

We were discussing what to do with the ground beef I bought yesterday.
I joked, "We could make sloppy Joes."
"Yes!" Mrs. Plant v3.0 said.

I went to the hardware store, she to Kroger.
I am fearful...

Joes of Slop are not to be underestimated.
On the flip side, do not give to the dog. At least, not of said dog sleeps in the same house. You will regret the gas fumes later.
More quakes, yay.

Maybe, in light of the quakes on the west coast, hurricanes to the east, west nile in the south, and who knows WHAT coming from the north, I'm thinking perhaps a Natural Disaster thread's in order. Only problem with that is that too many of them have such very dire consequences, that could be depressing. I've been lucky, so what I've gone through has ended being just a lot of work with stories to tell, nothing serious.

Ok maybe a bad idea. Who wants to be even MORE depressed on a Monday? Blah!!

Swampy can't always be right. I love sloppy joes. Well, my sloppy joes because they don't have any icky vegetables in them.

Not me, really. Thanks for asking, though.

First day of school tomorrow. Rah. Normally a week or so before school starts I would have began stressing out. This time it hasn't fazed me. I just plan on showing up and hanging on this semester. Funny how things change.

What more proof do you need?
Sloppy Joes are not food.

Hamburgers made with egg and breadcrumbs. Not the usual dense smushed ground beef. Shredded hash browns with garlic, onion and bell pepper.

Weekly memo to self:

Do nor feed sloppy joes to dogs.
Swampy's perfect cuisinal tastes ruined by creamed (shudder) corn.
Lubavitchers: cool hats.
