lol I couldent resist but to post these acounts. I mean, the debate most of the time is tigers are stronger than lions an are way bigger, besides thats hardly the truth, lions have contended with a competiter predator bigger an stronger by far than the tiger...Brown bears an Polar bears, who easly would out muscle an out weigh any tiger almost 2x fold at average or at max. So If the lion could hold grounds with some Goliath size bears an win more than vice versa, then it only shows that that debate goes right out the window...heres those accounts of lions defeating bigger Brown an Polar Bears...

THE OAKLAND TRIBUNE APRIL 1, 1895 "A DRAW" PARNELL FIGHTS A BIG BEAR.
THE LOS ANGELES TIMES APRIL 2, 1895 "BRUIN THROWS LEO

At 4 P.M. yesterday, in the bull ring at New Laredo, Mexico, the African lion Parnell fought a terrible battle with an enormous grizzly bear of the American type. The attendance was large. The animals fought desperately for two rounds until completely exhausted, but contrary to expectation, neither was killed. It was a bloody combat.
The crowd went wild when twice the American grizzly threw his African opponent and erstwhile king of beasts, so hard upon the ground that once, had time been called according to the usual rules, the lion would have been counted out
Throughout the battle the lion showed more agility and treachery.
Parnell is owned by Colonel F. Daniel Boone, the lion tamer, and is the beast that killed its keeper at the Midwinter Fair.
The bear is somewhat larger and heavier than the lion, and was secured at New Orleans where he killed two keepers.
It is the first time on record that such a combat has taken place. Mr Zarcombe, editor of the Laredo Times, was fortunate enough to secure four excellent instantaneous photographs of the battle. The fight took place in a large circular steel cage twenty feet in diameter and fifteen feet in height.
No more thrilling spectacle was ever witnessed than the spring made by the lion as he bounded into the cage, with a magnificent leap fully fifteen feet, and grappled with his antagonist.

I hate to break it to you. I'd wager most of those view count pings are people either:
Interested in a fun, common IMHO subject, but are now completely confused at what you are writing and what your point is.

or

Repeat viewers that are now aware the OP is just babbling incoherently and dumping incomprehensible random citations in his own thread, and are now just watching a slow-motion train wreck.

- - -

I get your basic thesis: Lions are totes the best predators evaar!
Fine, but your mountain of random links are impossible to sort through. Please sum up what you've found in your research.

Like this:
Most people think tigers would win a fight with a lion, but I've found 98 references to documented fights. Lions killed the tiger in 64 of them, tigers only killing 16 (all female lions), with 18 draws (and lions were described as coming out ahead in 4 of those).
I've made up all those numbers, but that's kind of what I'm asking for.

Did I strike a nerve or something pal? Just say I have 98 refferences of the lion winning? How many people would actually belive that? XD XD an 64? Ya cant count, now can ya mate? Dave hoover himself has stated he lost (Many) Tiger{S}, Alan Gold has lost (Several) Tiger{S} Altoona mirror a single lion killed {3} tigers, Jam sahib has saw {4} tigers in the wild lose to lions, Clyde beatty stated he lost {25} Tigers to lions early on his carreer...ect ect for the rest....thats over a 120 accounts easy not 64 buddie. If your intent in insulting someone, then at-least get your facts straight.
-
This is basically in the humble opinion of any topic to label your threads so I aint bothering no one, yet apperantly either you looked for this topic, or you had bazzillions of free time so you just waited in the lounge forums an wanted to talk so oneone, so you posted in the most recent thread because your intent in what? Trolling...XD
-
I couldent care less of your opinion on why this thread is doing not bad, as long as they would have just taken a glimpse of just 1/10th of the data, then they would have learned something they probably would have never have came across...You know?...They choosed to click the mouse that high-lighted the lion vs tiger thread? XD XD People came in on there own accord, so try not to be so condisending or ignorant just because you dont like what you saw...an if you read properly an despite my lazy punctuation an grammar, they are all in catagorie form, pal. Que? Yeah thats right they have there opinions from experts section, there feats section, there kill section an more, so if you cant comprehend , then dont bother scraping up any more half-ass insults.
-
Lions are the greatest evarr? I just vocied my opinion, dont need to jump into the conclusion of a fanatic dude, I merely was opinionating a cause of brain-washing porportions, so is it wrong to speak the truth an exploit whats heavy in Bias B.s? Now I wouldent say that, not everyone like you adores hiltler type formalitys....XD You just look as if you dident like the idea that the one you choosed was coming out secound best, I dont know but it looks that way, or why else would you have the need to leave a retarded remarke as a repeating trend? Others have pointed out my lazyness in grammar an other things so why bother you posting? Huh! You just had to get yours in, in small capatalizing to redeem what your mind that has been shattered in what you were looking foward in seeing, of some mook just saying ahhh lion wins an another saying no tiger wins an that goes back an forth with no evidence for around a million times....XD XD Sorry but, I brought the goods an you dident...plain an simple. You dont like it? Then take a walk bud.

Like I said, I made up the numbers in an attempt to show what a summary of research might look like. Somewhere in your rambling and mountain-o'-links might be an compelling argument. The person who needs to "get their facts straight" is you, in that you need to succinctly summarize what your research reveals in a way the rest of us can parse.

Your punctuation, grammar, and spelling are beyond just lazy. It's really, really bad and making it extremely difficult for us to make sense of anything you're saying. You definitely have an impressive amount of citations. They look like 9/11 Truther citations, but you have a lot of them.

lol You know exactly what it protains to, take your time an comphrend it, its not that hard to figure out. XD
-
So exactly what are you trying to parse, Hmm? I can anser any question of anything I posted now that my attention is on it, what do you wish to know pal? I almsot have what I wanted to post which should be basics...all about sums it up...spo other than you just repeating what I already admited...which is irratating btw, why exactly comment back? Tell me whats the need thats dragging you back to my thread? I dont see any on-topic gestures so it would brand you if what your doing...trolling. I dont have to repeat my-self an say I did horribly in grammar an punctuation, I see it my self, though I can link you to sites I myself wrote pages of info with flawless Grammar an punctuation if that helps clarify my lazyness...which in terms woould put a stop to your whole reason why your here, or part of the reason atleast...I have no answer or some in why your insisting in being a troll so I'll leave it to your next reply...knowing thats the why you'll keep comeing back...right? XD XD

So either post something on topic or stay off, simple as that...B/c at this point your just a chump troll.

400 is enough for me. Or would you like me to post a 120 accounts of lions killing tigers in Captivity an the wild...we arnt at, who can kill the other bit...they both have for thousands of years...we are in the bit of who has killed the other more...last time I checked the tiger had only around 30 wins..while the lion 120...doing the math rounding that sum out would put it 8/10 times the lion would win...unless you can present 120 times the tiger has killed the lion to get it at 50/50...then its going to stay at 8/10 times...sorry but thats how I see it.

I too think that the Wikipedia people are part of a conspiracy to hide the truth about who would win in a fight between lions and tigers.

Spell-checkers predate PCs. Hell, there was a word processor on my father's Commodore, back in '81, that had a spell-checker, so they were even available on extremely low-end machines before IBM even came out with the PC. I remember spell-checkers on mainframes via VT100 terminals, I remember them on CP/M machines, I remember them on virtually every machine I ever did text editing on, long before IBM ever thought of the first PC.

Your excuse is weak, at best. And it still doesn't cover your use of apostrophe's every time the word end's in the letter 'S. That's ju'st ignorance 'speaking.

@SecretaryofEvil
I dont think its wikipedia in general, its just a few people that went to great lengths in abusing its capabilitys...ergo a awesome way to brain wash if its implemented as true...it has merits of being true...though its merely one side of the coin. But what I dident like was you'd think by now it would have been updated, but its basically impossible because its in a locked state...so others who wish to learn are getting a Bias point of view which is tended more so on a lie in the overall.

I think this is a pretty cool find...

LIONS AND TIGERS.

TWO lions and a tiger!" said Louis, A holding up a picture. "Aren't they splendid-looking fellows? I wonder if they're going to fight?"
"The tiger would get the worst of it, I'm afraid," answered the boy's father as he examined the picture. "Two lions to one tiger are more than a match. They
\ are splendid-looking fellows, that's a fact. ) How grandly the artist has drawn them \" ) "Don't you think, papa, that the tiger • is a little scared?"
) "I shouldn't wonder, for the two great .; lions look as if they were going to eat him ) up. But it isn't likely they'd find that a 5 very easy thing to do, for a tiger is about / as strong as a lion, and more active. He'd j make a hard fight for his life, even with • two against him."
"I think he wants to get off," said
> Louis. "You see that his head is set away from the lions; but they could catch ) him, I reckon.''
•{ "In a race the tiger would beat them. At a single bound he could go eighteen or
> twenty feet."
I "Then he'd better be off," said Louis.
"So I think. Running will be better for him than fighting. Two lions to one' tiger are too much."

Of course it has been shown that 1 lion is more than enough by people like Kailash sahnkala a Inidan Zoologist, an accounts like the Velar account, but as this man says....2 lions might be just too much for a tiger.

Well, but here's the thing, My Lord.
Are you reading any of your cites?

Because in this one in Post 51, after the Lion beats the Tiger and the Bear, a Horse--a plain old, frightened Horse--kicks the Lion's ass. First in the breast, then in the forehead, to finish it off.

See the rest of the story here, on page 282.

Yup I knew that...I figure not mentioning it because this is a lion vs tiger thread, not Horse vs lion, but if you'd wish to know more I can give you alot of accounts of a horse managing to kill a lion an a tiger an even grizzley bears...jeez I can give you 4 accounts of a Donkey killing a tiger would you like to see? But the fact is the lion got killed by that horse because the lion just fought a long fight with a Bear an Tiger, an killed both something very rare indeed, so its not like the lion was fresh in vitality an set upoun the horse. But I would root more for the Horse anyway ^_^

The Big Cage with Clyde Beatty
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTyHvXRcY_s
Heres the article to that movie...
. 2 tigers died, In the the big cage tiger from a lion-(Video)
http://images.yuku.com.s3.amazonaws....70d5e4a2_r.jpg
An heres a abstract from Clyde Beattys book...
Clyde beatty’s circus act Ceasar the lion kill’s bobby the tiger.
“Down sprang Caesar, determined to seize the offensive, but before he could do so, Bobby had battled his way through Caesar's paws, grabbed his mane so stubbornly that he couldn't move. For the next couple of minutes each struggled and strained for an advantage, but Bobby's hold was so tenacious that they only succeeded in twisting a little. With the cameras continuing to grind and getting nothing but a little harmless tug of war… Energy spent, the exhausted Bobby tried to roll away from Caesar, but Caesar's hold now was as firm as Bobby's which had been on his mane. Seeing this turn in affairs, I dashed into the cage. Already Caesar's jaws had crunched Bobby's neck and when I got there Caesar was shaking Bobby's limp, bloody head and throat from side to side. Bobby's eyes were turning starey. He was dead and it was only two minutes since I was keenly sorry that I had done it, but in thinking it over I became convinced that my part had been negligible. The lion is frequently the superior; he doubtless would have been the winner in this case no matter what I had done.”

I find it funny that theres around 20 edited videos on the web saying either, hey this is a female bengal tiger that killed a male nubian lion, or yo this a summatran tiger that F'd up a huge african lion an the lion died after...it just dosent make sense, for one the owner of that tiger [Clyde beatty said his name was Bobby, (A guys name) an #2 Clyde an the staff all said the lion won...not to mention there was 3 tigers used in this movie, the first 2 died so fast that they couldent show it because they wouldent have passed the regulation of whats presentable to socioty, of a grusome one way maul.

Lion kills 3 Tigers
-
lion kills three tiger’s Source: Altoona Mirror, September 27. 1928
http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/...eraccount4.jpg
http://www.raden-saleh.org/enlionsandtigerfighting.jpg

This account stores some giant quanitys of Solar power upoun me (Superman) when I read it...its uncanny in how this took place as it does look like a tribute artifact more so the account, I could be wrong, but this man sounds as of speaking of a circus event, though the picture looks in open feilds, but circus dosent mean the tent type of modern days it could be the other circus implemations for the word circus was already used in the Roman days of the gladitorial events as in Circus Maximus. But all in all this account is probbaly the most hig end feat so far.

I couldn't quite tell from this thread but have you seen the North Korean Lion V Tiger fights? They make them fight at the zoo, because North Koreans are strange.

See for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bif9t2pvk74

It's not obvious to me which one really counts as winning but I would say the tiger.

The lion totally pwns the bear too. So assuming well ordering, a tiger would rip a bear to shreds.

It's a laughing face. The person is laughing so hard their eyes are closed.

Above link has visual evidence.

A tiger would totally beat a lion at prett much everything.
