Belated Happy 50th Telstar!

50 years ago yesterday Telstar, the first communications satellite, was launched.

The point about 1:15 into it still sends chills up my spine. Even today that tune has such a unique singature! Such technological optimism back in those days! We could do anything if we really tried and things were just going to get better and better!
