TV ad crush smackdown: Flo vs. Jan vs. Lily

The cute, perky spokeswomen now currently on TV.

Flo (Progressive Insurance). Got a head start on the others, but is she still the leader?

Jan (Toyota). A challenge to the long-time champ?

Lily. The newest contender.

What say you?

I prefer Flo but it isn't based on appearance alone.

I like the red headed Wendy's spokesperson they have now.

Flo does nothing for me. Looks or personality.

The other two seem fine, but honestly, they don't really hit my radar.

Exactly what I was going to say. Jan is a distant second. Lily wasn't even on my radar.

The others are fine lookin' women but the thing about Flo is not her being fine. Flo is a memorable character, almost comic bookish, unreal enough that she stands out. The others are generic pretty spokewomen but having just clicked the links I still could not particularly recall the faces and likely still would not be able to pick out who was who from list of pretty spokeswomen pictures. Flo? The unrealness of her makes it so I can picture her right away, the overdone make-up, the white uniform, the hyper-perkiness ... bing, right there.

Flo for recognition.
lily for sweet attitude and stuffing in you pocket & taking home.

There are several redheads around that get my blood up but I know the temperament of red heads so I'll pass.

Stephanie Courtney guest-starred as the mother of a patient-of-the-week on House. Once you strip off Flo's clown lipstick and over-caffeinated perkiness, she's actually a pretty good actress who can make you forget she sells insurance to fund her lipstick addiction. Or something, since I haven't seen her in anything else.

She was in an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond, where Ray is trying to sell cookies on the sidewalk and her son pesters her into buying a box. She's pretty much unrecognizable without the clown makeup.

The other night I caught a rerun of Modern Family and thought I saw Toyota "Jan" in one scene, but I couldn't tell for sure. It was the episode where Mitch was concerned about how clingy Lily was being with Cam, and decided he was going to drop her off at pre-school (because Cam was taking her shopping instead of going to school, etc.) The woman Mitch was talking to at the day care looked a lot like Jan. But it was a short scene and I never really got a good look at her.

As for the poll, AT&T Lily was my most recent hot ad girl crush until she started giving Grant Hill all kinds of attitude. Flo and her clown lipstick are annoying and Jan has bugged me since the early "lie detector" ad, so I think I would have to go with Wendy, who has a little bit of an Allyson Hannigan thing going, but is way hotter.

I just voted "Other". The Wendy's spokesperson is wonderful, but I sure wouldn't mind seeing more of this girl on tv. (Not sure if she qualifies as Spokesperson, however...)

I'll take the animated e-surance chick. Where has she been lately?

In case she doesn't resurface, put me down for the pony-tailed Nationwide ninja chick who replaces all your stolen stuff: Ninja!!

Erin Esurance was retired when she became too popular with a certain segment of her fans.

Really, none of them. Jan looks like someone's Mom, Lily looks like she's barely in college, and Flo is just... no. No.

If I had to choose, the fake Wendy would win, but I'm not really into redheads.

Flo used to be hot, but now she looks like an older woman trying to look young. Jan is indeed hot, but I've been an admirer of Milana Vayntrub since she started appearing on college humor.

I agree that Morgan Smith Goodwin is (Wendy's girl) is hot, but I don't tend to vote "other" in polls like this. It's too much work to consider the entirety of all television ads. Having to pick between three people is a lot easier.

Plus, I seem to remember her personality bugging me a bit. And not in an over the top way like Flo, so it wasn't funny.

Years ago there was a Reese's Peanut Butter breakfast cereal commercial where this kid was annoying his older sister who worked at a diner as a waitress. I don't think she actually had any lines but I thought she was really cute in a quirky kinda way.

Lily is hot. Love the commercial where there are like four women realtors and one man with them who awkwardly crosses his arms just after all the women do.

The absolute best was that commercial where Wendy and her equally hot friends were sitting around in shorts and sundresses by the pool. Oh my God. Excuse me while I go hose myself down.

I voted "none of the above" as my current spokesperson crush is Amy Paffrath, better-known as the Amazon "Mayday" girl.

Another vote for pony-tail ninja. It's gotten so I really have no clue what product any of these spokescrushes are peddling. They're too cute, and the ads too quirky and abstract.
