Good catch! Yes, it was Thomas Sangster (now Brodie-Sangster). I see he also provides Ferb's voice in Phineas and Ferb!:

Those who like Aiden Gillen (Littlefinger) should see The Dark Knight Rises, in which he has a small but important role early in the movie.
SPOILER:
He's the CIA agent in charge of the flight which Bane skyjacks.

A few casting announcements: Ciaran fucking Hinds has been cast as Mance Rayder. Ed Skrein as Daario Nahaaris. Jacob Anderson as Grey Worm.

Hinds seems quite a bit too old, but I've been pretty happy with the casting so far. Mance isn't a very physical role for the most part, but we'll see.

Who do we need now? Strong Belwas and Vargo Hoat?

I think Hinds is a great choice for Rayder, he's got the charisma and gravitas to play the role. I know nothing of Ed Skrein and Jacob Anderson but an image search reassures me.

I've always pictured Strong Belwas as looking a bit like a taller, heavier David Tua. Maybe Serj Tankian could grow his beard back and play Vargo Hoat.

Just got sent this link for an interview with GRRM. Lots of interesting stuff, including a hint that there *IS* some sort of meaning behind why some chapters have names beyond the simple character names he always used at the start.

He also says he’s aiming for 2014 for the next book, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Last I heard there isn't going to be a Strong Belwas.

Maybe they'll combine him with Daario (which wouldn't be bad, since Daario does shit all.)

For some reason, I just really, really want the scene of Belwas (or whoever replaces him,) taking a big shit after besting Yunkai's warrior in single combat (I think it as Yunkai, might have been Mereen, I get them confused.)

It's a great "fuck you!" scene.

Oh, man, the first time I read that scene I was totally picturing how it would be filmed. Really? No Strong Belwas? I wanted to see the teeny tiny vest!

That's too bad, I love Strong Belwas.

I've read all the books to date, but I've only seen S1 of the show so far. Where did S2 end? The Battle of the Blackwater?

Arstan is in season 3, so Belwas would have to come in some other way. Dany's going to at least get the Unsullied this season. I'm not sure how he'd come in after that. He's not a big character, I'm pretty sure he's gone.

Skammer, it ends with the attack on the first of the first men.

I can't believe they cast Ciaran Hinds and DIDN'T cast him as Roose Bolton. That would have been a match made in heaven. Mance Rayder oughta be Gary Oldman.

Oh wait, they've already cast the substitute Gary Oldman as Littlefinger. People might have trouble keeping them straight.

For those GOT fans who see Zero Dark Thirty... watch for Stephen Dillane (Stannis) as the (unnamed) National Security Advisor, and Jennifer Ehle (originally cast as Catelyn) as a CIA counterterrorism agent.

Halfway paying attention to Downton in the background while while the SO is watching it, I feel like there are many actors I am expected to recognize. I really don't, even if the names are familiar. But one who popped out immediately is Iain Glen aka Jorah Mormont, in a few episodes.

I think we'll see the following scenes:

SPOILER:
Mormont being killed in ep. 4, Ygritte/Jon and the Beric vs Hound fight in ep 5, Jaime rescuing Brienne from the bear pit in ep. 7, and the Red Wedding in ep. 9. I think it's possible we'll see unCat in ep. 10, since she's a mother too, but I hope not.

Pretty much you get to choose what category you are in. Which is why hour-long dramas often are nominated for "best comedy".

Peter is pretty good, yes, but HBO knows he hasn't a chance in hell of winning "best actor" but has a real shot at "supporting".

I'm not going to pop the DVD in to check, but isn't Dinklage billed as a prestigious "and" or "with," la Andy Rooney? And IIRC he got a credits upgrade in season 2. And of course, the series really lacks a lead actor. Tyrion and Ned (for a time) are obvious choices. Others like Jaime, maybe. Really, it just shows the awards are part bunk.

If there ever is/was a poll thread about your favorite character, Tyrion should not be included in the poll because it's the "well no duh, who else?" answer.

I rarely argue when I come here as doing so is usually puerile, but I have issue with the statement, "Peter [Dinklage] is pretty good..." He owns every scene he is in. His character is arguably the most complex and interesting of the dozens to choose from in Mr. Martin's panoramic epic. The casting for this series has been outstanding, but the choice of Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister was truly inspired.

"Pretty good?"
I'll see your 'pretty good' and raise you a 'pretty darned good'.
So there.
Hope I wasn't too harsh in my rhetoric.

Sure, I'll buy "pretty darned good" no problem, but still, the role doesn't have the ummph for HBO to risk trying for Best Actor.
