Missed edit: Someone references Dan Savage and the "Karmic Rule of Kink" back on Page 1. That's always been one of my favorite columns of his, and is worth a look. Dan's vitriol wouldn't apply to umkay for a bunch of reasons (seriously, it's not the same situation, I want to be totally clear that I'm not disparaging anyone who's made uneasy by the whole devotee thing), but the general idea is still partly applicable, and if nothing else it's a fun read.
