I am looking at the frozen burritos at the supermarket an I ask myself, “where are the bean beef and cheese burritos?”. There does not seem to be any. Oh sure, there are bean and beef, or bean and cheese, but no bean beef and cheese.
Why?
I am not sure why, but I think the Iluminati are responsible…
Hmmm, walk through the meat department, see that reddish brown stuff? It’s hamburger!
Okay, see those white flat breads? Tortillas!
That can right there, it’s labeled refried beans, very good stuff.
Oh if you’d like above the beans are salsas grab a jar.
Then there is this package with shredded Jack and Cheddar too! Preshredded, it’s a little more expensive but the work is done.
Okay, go home, find your favorite mexican spices, heat up a pan and cook that hamburger up, drain off the fat and let cool to room temp. (drain off as much of the fat as possible.)
Assembly time: on top of a tortilla a scoop or two of hamburger, a scoop or two of beans, lavish with cheese, roll up then wrap in waxed paper so the burritos don’t stick and put in a plastic bag (note you could put some salsa in your creation if you’d like) repeat steps and once all burritos are assembled, pop in freezer!
Now, the tricky part, take burrito out of freezer and zap in microwave until hot.
< grin >
Sorry I couldn’t resist saying that. The cool thing is you know what goes into your frozen burrito. No preservatives, no artificial colors or flavorings and you created them yourself.
Ferrous a bachelor that can cook gets laid on the first date.
Oh and I do find more and more men are cooking these days. I don’t know what it is, probably that men are putting off marriage till they are older and rather than eat take out, frozen foods and fast food all the time they need to “nest” a little. Of course a lot of bachelors don’t even know what a pan is.
No cheese with the beef? Maybe they are kosher? Or imported Israeli burritos. Well that’s unlikely…but isn’t it sort of overkill to have beans, cheese, AND beef!
Those things can be weapons, I remember when you microwave them the ends stay a bit cool, but the core is about 600 degrees Fahrenheit…
And I won’t even get into the after effects!
Well anyway I have since discovered the joys of more authentic Mexican food. But when I was 12 they were a staple of my diet.
