What are the current regulations regarding the carrying of kirpans (daggers) by Sikhs while flying? I have done some looking around, and Air Canada had a "4 inch" rule (no blades of longer than 4" permitted) - but I don't know if that is still the case. Since the wearing of the kirpan (one of the five "K"s of a Sikh) is usually considered a religious obligation rather than a religious option, I should think this situation must have arisen somewhat frequently. Anyone in the airline business know what goes on, and if there have been any changes with the crackdown on security after 11 September?

Interesting question, I'd like to hear the answer too.

Actually, I'm going to start a religion that requires all followers to carry a Luger P-08
