Global Deaths

It looks like in 2001 there is approximately 6.15 Billion people in the world. Growth rate is about 1.25% a year.

How many people die in a year? Absolute number or percentage?

Let me be the first to cite the following news story:World Death Rate Holding Steady At 100 Percent

The CIA estimates that for 2001, the world death rate was 8.93 deaths/1,000 population. The CIA has statistics broken down by country here: http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/...eath_rate.html
