Charging a Nokia 8270 phone with different car adapter...

I just bought a new Nokia cricket phone...and the guy sold me a car adaptor that doesnt have the same model (although very close) number listed on the packaging (he didnt have any that matched). Is this still safe to use, or will I potentially damage my sparkling new phone?

nokia seems to have standard chargers... i've used the same nokia car charger for multiple phone models, and they've all charged fine...

i'm not sure of the long term effects though... see if the output voltage is listed on the car charger, and look for the input voltage for your phone... if they match exactly, then it's all ok.

if the charger has no volatage listed, compare the input of that phone model to your phone model.
