Ted McGinley and Aaron Dozier, who played the same roll in _Better off Dead_ that Ted McGinley played in _Revenge of the Nerds_

Good one! Have you ever seen youn TLJ in The Paper Chase?

Also:

- Matt LeBlanc could play Sylvester Stallone's son.

- Jada Pinkett-Smith could play James Earl Jones' daughter or grand-daughter.

- Angela Basset and Lynn Whitfield could play sisters.

- The Lowry twins (from Sister Sister) could play Gregory Hines' duaghters.

When I saw Hugh Jackman and Meg Ryan in Kate & Leopold, they looked like Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker's older siblings to me.

Don't know if I can agree about Scully...but in this shot she does look a tad of Julianne Moore from "The Shipping News" http://www.josite.hey.nu/jo1.jpg.html

Jack Nicholson and Michael Ironside.
Robert DiNero and Sean Penn.
Peter Cushing and Jude Law.
Lee Majors and Elvis Presley.
Bruce Willis and that guy who played Michael Garibaldi on B-5 (Jerry Doyle?).
Stan Laurel and Clint Eastwood.
Take a good look at Malcolm McDowell in A Clockwork Orange and tell me he dosen't look like Mark Hamill.
Howard Stern and Joey Ramone.
Victor Mature and Sylvester Stallone.

I saw "The Tao of Steve" and "The Field" in one week, and I actually went to the IMDb to check whether the same actor had either gained or lost weight and played both Dex and Tadgh McCabe. So I have to say Sean Bean and Donal Logue could play brothers.

To me:

-Lori Singer, Daryl Hannah, and (even though she's not an actress) Aimee Mann all look like they could come from the same branch of the family tree.

-Shelley Long could pass as either Lisa Kudrow's mother or older sister.

-Rachel Weisz and Helena Bonham Carter could be sisters.

1. Maybe I'm way off base here, but how about Christine Lahti and Susan Sarandon?

2.Natasha Richardson and Lea Thompson look like they could be sisters.

3. Winona Ryder and Hilary Swank, too. But only when Hilary had short hair.

4. Michael Richardson and Lyle Lovett

5. Matt Damon and Brad Pitt. I definitely wouldn't complain if they did a movie together.

Oh, as for other relations...I was a bit surprised to find out that Emily VanCamp("Everwood" and Ryan Reynolds("2 Guys and a Girl" aren't remotely related. I didn't peg them for siblings, since a nine year age gap is a lot, but I was sure they were at least cousins because their eyes look so much alike. Aside from being from Canada, they don't seem to have anything to link them in reality.

Oh, dammit! What a bizarre post munch! Lemme try that again...

My nomination:
Matt Dillon (on the left, of course) and Michael Schoeffling who was in Sixteen Candles as the object of Molly Ringwald's desire.

And I also that that Gillian Anderson was Jo Anderson's sister in real life until I read a disclaimer that said "of no relation, Gillian is naturally a blonde not a redhead." Julianne Moore could be related to them both too.

*Peter Mark Richman, Paul Michael Glaser, and Michael T. Weiss could easily play grandfather, dad, and son.

*If you're not familiar with him, he played may bit television roles in the 60s and 70s, usually as an urbane bad guy. He also had a really great voice, and I always thought he would have been a good one for cartoon super-heroes. I looked in his filmography and saw that he actually done some voice-over work in the past ten or so years: he supplied the voice of God in a cartoon. You don't get many "larger" roles.

John Cusack and Ed Norton, surely?

Michael Shanks in Stargate SG-1 was an excellent recast for James Spader; if they played brothers, I wouldn't be unconvinced.

Oliver Platt and Jack Black. For the comedy value.

Helen Hunt and Jodie Foster. I know they were already mentioned, but they're the first two I thought of, mostly because I know someone who looks like both of them.

In the "Dead or Alive" catagory, how about Errol Flynn and Leonardo Decaprio?

In the 80's there was a lot of confusion between Margot Kidder, Karen Allen, and Brooke Adams.

Also, apparently Vanessa Redgrave and Maggie Smith occasionally get mistaken for one another, although I suspect typecasting has something to do with that.

Since Kelsey Grammar's name keeps popping up, I'd like to nominate him and Robert Picardo, the guy who played the doctor on Star Trek: Voyager. They could play brothers.

Matthew Broderick's mother is Jewish. He's been cast in Jewish roles several times, including Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues.

Every time I see a thread like this, I'm stunned when no one has mentioned The Rock and Rob Schneider. I would love to see a remake of Twins starring these two, because they really do look like truly fucked-up twins, man.

There was an episode of L.A. Law that played on this, back in the 80s. In this (humorous) story arc, one of the lawyers learns that his deceased father not only played around like crazy, but left a string of illegitimae sons in his lake, all of whom are about the lawyer's age, and all somewhat resembling him. The lawyer was played by Alan Rachin (he later played Dharma's dad), who was bald, with a fringe of black hair. He looked then like Dr. Phil today, only thinner.

To pull this off, they basically rounded up every character actor who met this description. One of them was Jeffrey Tambor (Hill Street Blues, The Larry Sanders show). I don't remember the others, but you would have known them; they weren't nobodies. There were about six of them in total, all character actors that you would have recognized (at least back then), and once they were all in the same scene, you thought, damn, they DO all look alike!

Bruce Willis and Mickey..uh... from 9 1/2 Weeks? (I'll remember his name the second I hit "submit, I just know it.)

John Goodman and Norm from Cheers.

Agreed on Redford and Pitt - Pitt's resemblance to Redford in A River Runs Through It was almost breathtaking.

Oh, one more.

The late Dick Sargent and Ronny Cox. The ironic thing is that either Sargent's real last name was "Cox," or Cox's real last name is "Sargent."

elfkin477: Funny you should mention Nick Brendon...he actually has a twin brother in real life, who usually works as his stand-in on Buffy. They did an episode with the two of them in the fifth season -- it turned out pretty good.

Speaking of Buffy people: Amber Benson could easily play Angelina Jolie's sister. Actually, if you wanted to have Gwyneth Paltrow and AJ to be sisters, Amber could help make the connection, because she kinda looks like both of them.
