The main reason why Leiberman will lose
My gut feeling:
Leiberman has a monotonous and whiny sounding voice. I don't believe the average American would want to listen to his voice for four years. |

As opposed to Bush the Elder? I think our cut off point is up to but not to exceed four years.

Well, its true that pappa Bush has sort of a nasal twang. But Leiberman has that "Oh, woe is me" whine to his voice. Almost like he's constantly on the verge of tears.

Well, his Jewishness isn't going to help, like it or not.

He's half of a ticket that lost (kinda) before.
His pro-censorship stance will alienate the left of the DNC. He's Jewish. He doesn't stand a chance. |

He'll never get the geek vote, that's for sure. He's been on this wacko crusade against video games since the original Mortal Kombat came out, and he also bears a creepy resemblence to Senator/Emperor Palpatine from the new Star Wars flicks.

The main reason why Leiberman will lose ?
The Supreme Court will never allow him to win.

Leiberman--Joe Leiberman, the US Senator?
Tastes differ...some people find W the soul of eloquence...but my recollection of Leiberman is of a dignified man with a rich baritone voice and a winning smile. As for the techno-geeks-- since when did they start voting? |

I must admit he makes Rick Moranis sound like James Earl Jones.

I'd say he has a better chance than Al Sharpton.

I don't think Lieberman sounds whiney. "Constipated" would be a more accurate description.

He's too milquetoast. I like him mostly, but he's not a crowd-pleaser.

You may have a point. It seems like "the public" was entranced with Reagan's smooth voice and ability to "inspire" folks with his "words".
But people shouldn't vote for someone simply becasue of their demeanor! |

I'm a democrate and he is waaaaay too centrist for me. Actually he seems more like a centrist republican then a centrist democrate to me.

Would we have to stop referring to him as Deputy Dog, and switch to Mr. President Dog?

He's a Democrat, that's the reason. They are hoping that the same thing will happen to Bush as happened to his ole man. It won't and Cheney will continue to run the country.
IMHO

Anyone see the Daily Show last night? Colbert contended that a Lieberman/Sharpton ticket would be in the running to receive the fewest votes in history. The whole bit left me in hysterics, including the footage of Al Sharpton referring to Tim Russert as "Brother Russert".
Surely the Democrats have someone better............ |
