What's up with these archives?

I understand the need to keep things under control, but just because a thread is inactive for two days doesn't make it necessary to kill it. And how about making the archives postable, instead of read only?

Um... if the archives were postable, they'd be active, not archives. What specific thread are you talking about taht was archived just because it hadn't been posted to in 2 days?

True, postable archives aren't really archives. To clarify: I only see topics from the last two days in all the forums, instead of page after page of threads. What happened to all those threads? Also, the archives are empty?

Check the upper right of the topics list screen for the forum you're trying to access. Notice the big blue "new topic" button. Just below it is a drop-down menu saying "show topics from the last x days." You probably have this set so "x" is "2". Choose another value and click on "go". You'll have to do this for every forum you access.

I presume moderators will be doing some housecleaning over the next little while, transferring old threads there.

Big Daddy, on any board menu of topics, you should see a dropdown box in the upper right that says something like "Show topics from last XX days." You can change that temporarily right there, or permanently by going into your profile and modifying it. I'll lay odds it's set for "...last 2 days" on your machine right now.

Yeah the "Guy Stuff" thread seems to be in the MPSIMS archive and although it shows 23 pages, only the first two seem to be available.

Yeah, we're gonna start moving older stuff to the Archives section.

I'll remark the tabs so it's clear they're archives and not the everyday stuff.

And yes, Archives are read-only; we don't archive active threads.

Lemme see about "Guy Stuff;" when I did it, it said all 23 pages carried over. :: sigh ::
