Test Your Movie Knowledge!: Part VII

The fun never stops. Once on threadspotting and 20 pages later: Time for

Part VII

Here we will follow the same format as the first six.

TYMK: VI

I am sorry I am wussing out on providing the hangers from the first six, but it is too much. Volunteers, however, are welcome () and you are encouraged to bring you own hangers.

I am starting the action with some of mine.

I_L_1 = The Piano (I guessed that one in a previous thread, remember?)

HF_1: "Everything I needed to know about despising Christmas, I learned from Boris Karloff."

HF_2: "Everything I needed to know about shooting my eye out, I learned from Peter Billingsley."

HF_3: "Everything I needed to know about stepping quietly, I learned from Kevin Bacon." (No, it's not Footloose)

HF_2: A Christmas Story (shooting eye out/Peter Billingsley)

HF_3: Hollow Man? (stepping quietly/Kevin Bacon)

Here are my outstanding entries from the previous thread, some restated and all renumbered. Since they were stumping people, I added second parts to each clue.

TE1: Everything I needed to know about female anatomy and sexual response I learned from Pauline Collins.

TE2: Everything I needed to know about dealing with unwanted rodents and hiding in totally obvious places I learned from Bridget Fonda

TE3: Everything I needed to know about being a snooty receptionist and giving subtle applause I learned from Lucy Lee Flippin

TE4: Everything I needed to know about stylish accessorizing and the battery I learned from John Candy

TE5: Everything I needed to know about unbeatable football defense and adoration of a much older man I learned from Mariel Hemingway

You got HF_2 (A Christmas Story) correct but not HF_3, TeaElle. Kevin Bacon stepping quietly is a key survival technique throughout the movie I'm thinking of (but Hollow Man was a good guess).

TE5 = Star80? Personal Best?

I've been banging my head against the John Candy one for a week now, so this is my last guess, Teaelle.

TE4: Everything I needed to know about stylish accessorizing and the battery I learned from John Candy

Is it Armed and Dangerous?

I guess my questions from the last quiz are beyond hope.

Here are a couple of new ones that maybe won't be so obscure.

Sub 1: Everything I need to know about using pocket change, I learned from John Candy.

Sub 2: Everything I need to know about push-ups, I learned from Christopher Walken

Ack, I posted too soon!

Here are the answers to my questions that were left over from the previous quiz.

SPOILER:

Sub_2: Everything I need to know about going to the moon I learned from James Caan
Countdown

Sub_3: Everything I need to know identifying ninjas who are half-Chinese I learned from Joan Chen
The Hunted

Sub5: Everything I need to know about having lesbian sex with Anne Heche, I learned from Joan Chen. And then I rewound it a few times just to make sure I'd learned it thoroughly.

Sublight, it ain't "Armed and Dangerous."

I suppose it might help if I added this.

TE4: Everything I needed to know about stylish accessorizing and the battery I learned from John Candy, and in that same flick, Tovah Feldshuh taught me everything I needed to know about places to be when dying.

[b]CG-3: Everything I needed to know about capturing Germans, I learned from Peter Berg and Gary Sinise.[\b]

This one is a holdover from the last thread. I'll add Kevin Dillon to the cast and see if anyone can come up with it.

CG-1 (for this thread): Everything I needed to know about jazz musicians, I learned from Chet Baker.

TeaElle is correct on HF_1 and HF_5, but no on HF_4.

I'll redo the clue for HF_4, but I just loved the way he delivered his "finger-lickin' good" line in the movie.

HF_4: "Everything I needed to know about preferring my victims clean shaven, I learned from Bill Paxton."

Here's a different clue for a movie that was never guessed previously:

HF_6: "Everything I needed to know about adopting a gay teenager, I learned from Harvey Fierstein."

HF_7: "Everything I needed to know about the 13th apostle, I learned from Chris Rock."

You know, I forgot about that funky reel-to-reel answering machine Mike Hammer (Ralph Meeker) had in Kiss Me Deadly, so we can scratch another unnumbered lissener clue off the list.

Not googling. Truth to tell, I didn't notice Meeker in there, I was too busy thinking about Cloris Leachman in that trench coat. Then, after Ilsa gave you direction on how to list your clues, I went back and reread them. That's when I realized you'd pulled two from Kiss Me Deadly.
