Ancient Roman/Greek guy who thought the heart controlled emotions?

I remember reading once that some ancient Greek, or possibly Roman guy thought that the heart controlled emotions because it would change rhythm when the person was experiencing different emotions.

Does anyone know who this was?

Seems like it goes a lot further back than the Gs and Rs.
