Mystery Science Theater 3000 the Movie - where to find?

Despite it being out of print for a few years, there has to be some place somewhere to buy it new on DVD. I've had no luck in finding it on any online retailer, and I'd like to avoid paying the $100+ prices I've seen on some auctions.

Anyone know of a hidden gem of such a website?

You'd probably have a lot more luck getting it on video cheaply.

There was some big broo-ha-ha between the various people involved - the MST3K people, the people who own the original movie, and the DVD distributer. I never did figure out all the details, but the upshot is that it's now out of print, and very very very unlikely to ever be rereleased on DVD, which is why the used copies out there are going for about $100. OTOH, I ran across a VHS copy for $10 a while back. Good enough for me.

The VHS copy, is, AFAIK, still in print. It's only the DVD that's unavailable.

Apparently, Universal tried to hold Image Entertainment (the DVD producer) up on the rights fees, and so it fell out of print.

I own both.

"Well, suddenly I have a refreshing minty feeling."

Try e-bay, but the auctions do indeed reach the $80+ level by the time they close.

I kick myself every time I remember passing up the single copy on DVD I saw at Best Buy last year.
