O'brian-The Letter of Marque-spoiler question
Generay Aubrey is found dead in a ditch; but I distinctky remember Jack speaking with his father in a later novel.
What gives? Is this like Reade's arm? |

Seriously...I'm reading The Reverse of the Medal right now and ...Marque is next. I'll check it out. |

An extra ration of rum for NCB.
Give me a few days, dammit*. I'll have to be reading research papers when I'd rather be reading O'Brian. "dammit" is, of course, a mere able seaman.

This is off the top of my head, but I believe you may be remembering Jack's talk with a distant cousin (or just family friend) who actually owns the votes to the seat in parliament once occupied by General Aubrey. He's the one who offers the seat to Jack.

You are correct, Curate, but I remember a conversation with his father in one of the later books. Parliment ain't in it.
