Voting while incapacitated

Are there existing laws in various states that prevent family members from using an incapacited family member, i.e. coma or alzheimers, from casting a vote for them via absentee or mail-in ballots when that person has no ability to think or vote for themselves? How can this be controlled?

Secondary question: Is it possible to find out the last election former President Ronald Regan has voted in?

Depends upon the Power of Attorney you've given them. If you've allowed them what's called a Proxy Vote then they can vote on your behalf.

I once saw Jimmy Carter on TV and he said in the 60's and prior to that it was not unusual for some small towns in Georgia to let widows vote twice - 1 for themselves and 1 for their dead husband. He put a stop to that as governor.

I would hope it's not legal anywhere to vote for someone who is not mentally able to make a decision.

Many of us have been dubious as to the mental capacity of candidates and those in office for decades.
