No more Spike. No more Wes. No more Angel. No more buffyverse. I…just really don’t know what I’m going to do with myself. I shouldn’t be so sad, it’s just a show…but…

God damn. This is truly a shame.
Oh poop! I really thought they were hitting their stride this season after an uneven last season.
And we all know the WB is so overflowing with hits that they can turn away a show with a consistent and supportive fanbase.
Hell, I was just getting used to it too.
I’m really really really really upset, and angry, too. Buffy going was sad, but it really was time to end it. Angel, imo, had a lot of life left in it.
I just hope Joss comes up with a great new series, and finds a home where it won’t languish.
Dammit, and I was just getting back into that show (watching TNT reruns along with teh new WB eps). That’s it then. Television is stupid. It seems that any quality show that costs less than a dollar to make is immediately yanked off the air.
There’s now exactly two hours of TV per week that I can’t miss. Scrubs, Arrested Development, and Smallville, which is pretty poorly written, but tries so hard. I love Smallville like I’d love a retarded child.
Anyone heard anything about Wonder Falls? I did hear somewhere that it’s Tim Minear’s show, right?
Appropriately enough, I just watched the pilot to Firefly for the umpteenth time on DVD, trying to bring more fans over to the franchise.
Well, I have contact information for the WB. I don’t know if it’ll do any good, but it probably can’t hurt. Fax, Email, Voicemail, and snail mail address
Damn. Hopefully, ME will be able to send Angel off with a bang.
Well, that is hopeful at least. Movie events… plural… could be cool – if it happens.
“We love the show and the actors so much that we’ve decided to cancel it.” WTF.
Grr… argh!
No more.
Oh shit. I’m gonna have to figure out how I’m going to break the news to my wife.
I’m emailing my pointless protest right now.
I’ve only turned into a huge Buffy fanatic over the past year, and I’ve started working my way through Angel since reruns started on TNT while watching s5 and I have to say that while it’s dissapointing, I can’t say I’m especially surprised. And really, given how much I utterly despise Buffy seasons six and seven, I wonder if it might not be such a bad thing that the show ends before it has the opportunity to get rancid.
Of course, being the last season, I could have done without Eve and Spike, but at least they have time to develop a good storyarc to end the whole thing.
Well…we’re clinging to a small, small hope that it can be saved. The online fandom has already mobilized and campaigns have started and there will be ads in various trade magazines in the very near future…Shoot, I even spent the past 2 hours making postcards and generic faxes to express my displeasure…
I heard they’re going to make an Eve spinoff. Anybody hear anything about that?
Jeez… well, now I’ve only got ONE show I watch on WB- Smallville. And that one ain’t great.
In other words, in one chop of the axe, they’ve cut my household’s viewership in half. sigh
That’s it. Once Angel goes off the air, I plan to get the cable disconnected. Enjoy your reality shows, dumb-ass sitcoms, and interminable teen dramas. I’m going to be watching my Firefly DVDs and muttering bitterly. TV network executives obviously don’t want me as a viewer, and I sure don’t need them either.
First of all, a huge round of applause from me to the WB, who ran Buffy The Vampire Slayer for 4 1/2 years, and then surpassed that with Angel running a complete 5 seasons. That’s 9 1/2 seasons of the Buffyverse from the WB running from 1997-2004. How could anyone be disappointed at that?
My main question relates to the agreement made with UPN at the time they got the rights to run Buffy for its last two seasons. I seem to remember that part of the deal was that they would get Angel as well, if WB didn’t renew it. Is that still in effect?
I’m sorry to see Angel end, as I think it still had great potential, but I’m looking forward to seeing how Joss ends the series. I hope he does better that he did with Buffy. I will miss the last ties to the Buffyverse, but I’ll try to remember the hundreds of hours of entertainment they provided.
