The Bush Dynasty by Kevin Phillips

Not all republicans buy the crap put out by the Bush admin. Here's one that doesn't.

Well today we take a look at the Bush Dynasty with author and former top Republican strategist Kevin Phillips.

Kevin Phillips first became well known in 1969 with the publication of his book "The Emerging Republican Majority" which Newsweek described as "the political bible of the Nixon Administration."

After Ronald Reagan's election in 1980, Phillips was generally acknowledged as the Republican Party's principal electoral theoretician. In 1982, the Wall Street Journal described him as "the leading conservative electoral analyst -- the man who invented the Sun Belt, named the New Right, and prophesied 'The Emerging Republican Majority' in 1969."

A very interesting read.

I have no doubt there are many main stream republicans who feel the way Mr. Phillips does.

It's so refreshing to see people breaking party ranks like that. I'm a Democrat, but I absofuckinglutely can not STAND Joe Leiberman. I'm convinced that if Gore had picked a different vice-presidential candidate, he would have won more than the slightly greater than the 51% of the vote he got in 2000.

Amen to that.

I used to be a big Bob Dole fan. A lifetime of solid financial good sense and fine service as a Congressman. When he ran for President, I was ready to cast MY vote for him in a red-hot minute.

...until he decided that Jack Kemp, of all people, would be his running mate.

In short, screw a lifetime of good solid financial sense. Anyone who wants to be President badly enough that he's willing to take a Voodoo Economist on as his running mate either wants it too bad... or has sold out to the wrong folks.

I wasn't wild about Gore, but Lieberman scares me. Anyone who still thinks video games are what's ruining America's youth does NOT need to be President... or even Veep. Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing him nudged out of Congress...

He would've gotten mine. Granted, Gore made a pretty shitty candidate, but Liberman is the political version of the grumpy old guy yelling "YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!"

His partnership with James Beattie is not producing a yield necessary for future European endeavours.
