Six Flags Ad with the Dancing Old Guy

There is a new ad airing for Six Flags amusement parks with this weird dancing old guy. My husband and I have been having some rather heated arguments over one burning question:

Is it an old guy or a young guy in old guy makeup?

And while we’re on the subject–what’s that song?

Thanks in advance.

If you look closely it’s pretty obvious it’s make-up.

I don’t know about anyone else, but if a bizarre old guy in a tux showed up in front of my house runnign around and dancing like a maniac, I’d be alot more likely to call the cops than go for a ride with him.

What if a bizarre young guy in a tux showed up in front of your house runnign (sic) around and dancing like a maniac? Invite him in for brownies and milk?

Hi Greenie!

He’s a young guy. My husband and I discovered that if you look closely, you can see he has young hands.

hm… I always thought it was just a young person, with an old guy’s head replaced on him, with computers or something. My theory comes from the fact that his neck isn’t visible. odd yes, but it’s my theory.

wait a minute… I have just found this ad that I got in the mail, and in this particular example, it appears to be a lot of make-up.

I belive its a young guy in make up but I am not sure.

The song is called either"We like to party" or “The Venga Bus” by the Vengaboys. A group I wish I could forget myself

Judge for yourself .

I love that ad. It totally cracks me up every time I see it. Of course, it’s still only the first week of April…

All it makes me think is “Okay, the ‘Uncle Junior Soprano is faking craziness to keep from going to trial’ story line has gone on long enough.”

I looked at the photo at Loach’s link, and it’s still hard to tell for sure. His hand doesn’t look young in the still. What is there about his appearance that makes people think he’s young? Why would the producers go to all the trouble with makeup and/or computer trickery and all that when they could just get some old dancer to do it?
I dunno.
BTW; his “wattles” do flap around some.

I’ve seen the commercial a few times now and the way he totters off the bus reminds me a great deal of the guys dressed in “old makeup” in the Jackass movie. It’s not 100% the way an authentic old guy moves. The dancing itself is digitally enhanced.

Whatever the song is titled, I heard it on TV the other day; it was played in an arena during an NHL game and I said “Hey, it’s the Six Flags Dancing Old Guy Song!”

Rachel Dratch plays a character that looks an awful lot like this person. Wonder if it’s her?

i thought it was that guy who played eurkel (sp) wearing a mask and gloves.

Now what time were we all going to mow our lawns and wash our cars this week?

I missed the memo.

As a certified old person, I think it is obvious that the actor is young. The make-up reminds me strongly of some versions of Elmer Fudd, such as when he was the conductor in the Fantasia parody cartoon, only with his shirt tail tucked in and without the five-o’clock shadow.

My first thought on seeing this commercial was that the guy tottering off the bus was a gen-u-ine old dude, then the guy that’s dancing is young and in old guy makeup (the camera is further away for the dancing). And the dude riding the rides is the genuine old guy again.

I’m with Captain Coconut on this one. His head doesn’t always seem to be in sync with the rest of his body. I vote for the blackmagic that is 'puters having a hand in it.

when my wife and i saw this add the first few times, we got the impretion that it was actually a young girl and not a guy. i don’t know why, but i was thinking it as she turn to me and said “that’s a girl in makeup”. it was one of those “you read my mind” moments.

DAMN, with this post i go from being a “member” to being a “guest”

I posted a similiar post… wanting to know the song… but I could tell their was a wig from looking at it…
