Training Day

Remember "Training Day"? I like Denzel alot he was great in that role so much that I was rooting for him throughout the movie...anyway I think Samuel Jackson could have played that role too, just as good. Although I can't think of to many other people that could have pulled it off.

I agree, good movie. But wasn't the point of it that he was a good cop on the outside but deeply corrupted within? I think that Samuel L would have made a Great corrupt cop, but I don't think that he could have pulled off the good cop look at the same time, as well.

IMHO I think you need someone like Denzel who appears to be such a pretty boy, in order to sharpen the contrast of the character. If you had Jackson playing the role, I know that I would have wondered how everyone else didn't notice who he really was, but thats more from the character he's been typecasted to be.

Something about an Evil Denzel, just screams good cinema... to me anywho.

They had me right up until the end, when Denzel's character got shot in the ass at close range with a 9mm. Denzel cussed for a second, limped around, and exclaimed in outrage, "You shot me in the ass!"

I somehow missed the part where his pelvis was shattered, or his femoral artery was severed, or at the very least, he went into shock.

Then later, just before he was gunned down by the Russians, he was driving, sitting on his blown-wide-open ass!

Bull fucking shit. It ruined the whole thing for me.

For such a supposedly gritty, realistic movie, that was just a howler.
