I was flipping through the channels this eve and came across the World Music Awards (Just some way for the Prince of Monaco to spend bucks and hobnob with the stars).

Anyway, Michael Jackson was receiving the best musician of the century, and Sweet Baby Jesus he looked looked like a monster. His face is all sunken, except for the block of granite he has jammed in there for a chin. His nose looks like it was smashed between two bricks. He just looked... AggghhhHH! Scary is the only word.

Any Plastic surgeons out there wanna fill me in on WHAT EXACTLY has gone so HORRIBLY wrong on that man's face?

Followup question: Am I the only one who's wondering why the children of Europe flock to, instead of run away from, this Frankenstein that IS Michael Jackson?

Wow...

I just checked him out at their homepage... http://www.montecarloresort.com/awards/00/w00pho16.htm He looks like a freaking woman! Was he going for the "Most sex-changed star of the millenium", or what?

Terrible...he's one ugly mother!

Insecurity...

...is at the root of most of the fucked-up things that people do to their bodies.

People with lots of insecurities and lots of money and lots of time on their hands...well, you've seen the result.

I always thought he looked rather good before all this plastic surgury stuff.

Once he hit the megabucks in the early 80's, he could start to change his entire body and persona. One of those Jacksons biographies that I didn't watch focused on his insecurities in being black. One scene from the preview had him looking in a mirror and calling himself "ugly".

He truly is a Frankenstein's monster. I can't believe any self-respecting plastic surgeon would do what he did to Michael. But I guess with enough bucks, someone'll do it.

I find what he has done to himself as distasteful as I find most tatoos and body piercings. But that's my opinion.

The man(using that term loosely of course) is freakin' scary. Not to mention could he be a little more pompous.

What was that whole entrance to accept his award?

They play the little Michael tribute and then start his music and out comes michael wearing a headset with a mike. Was it just me or did you expect him to start singing? But no, the freak walks out on stage and just stands there. What the heck was with the headset? Couldn't have a small indiscreet mike or anything.

Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed some of his work, but come on'!!!

I actually feel sorry for him. He is very talented and his music (Thriller and pre-Thriller) was great. It is obvious he has some problems to work out. He is beyond repair. I wonder how he would have turned out if Thriller wasn't the mega hit that it was.

Like you said, what self respecting surgeon would continue to work on him. Doesn't it reach a point where you have to question the mental capacity of Jackson and his ability to make a rational decision. Can I legally pay a surgeon and to attach one of my legs to my forehead?

It is either mental problems or a severe case of gross negligence on a surgeon out there.

Can't give you the source, but one L.A. magazine listing great Hollywood putdowns had this:
Only in Hollywood can a poor black boy grow up to be a rich white woman.

The skin condition requires him to wear heavy makeup or have splotchy black and white skin tones. It has nothing to do with all of his "cosmetic" surgery.

Exactly OpalCat!

I swear everyone trots out that skin condition thing to defend him, but that doesn't explain what happened to his nose, or lack thereof. The poor boy "ain't right" which scary as it may seem lends credence to what LaToya has to say.

Michael Jackson

MJ has Vitiligo, which caused skin pigment to disappear.

Seems he also has had way too much surgery, Vanity Fair reported that on that interview with Barbara Walters, the air conditioners were kept running to keep the nose from melting.

He still is a good female singer, though.

I don't mean to be offensive, but have you ever noticed that Michael Jackson and Bob Hope have the same nose?

I understand that Hope is doing better but still in the hospital.

you haven't seen scary

until you've seen what socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein did to her face:

She was all over the NY newspapers when she took her husband to the cleaners in their divorce. I really feel sorry for the poor thing.

I have mixed feelings about this whole thing. On one hand, I think he looked better as a black boy than as a white woman. He looks downright freaky now. OTOH, who am I (or, rather, who are we) to tell someone what they can or can't do with their own money?

Ceejaytee
Jocelyn Wildenstein is another freak. And the poor thing has to live without $160,000 a month from her ex-hubby. My heart bleeds.

Caption from Ceejaytee's link: "Beauty and the Beast?" I agree, that leopard is rather beautiful in its own way.

As for Michael Jackson's skin condition: OK, it's got naturally splotchy skin, some light, and some dark. I can understand why it would want it all to be the same shade. But why, then, did it pick the light skin? It would seem to me more reasonable for it to pick the skin it was born with, and it would probably even make the makeup easier: dark pigment generally covers light more easily that the other way around.

Did anyone else see "Three Kings"? The scene where the Iraqi guy is torturing the US soldier, and he asks "What is up with Michael Jackson?"
