The actor who played Deagol = pumpkin polishing hobbit?

Much like a heroin addict taking jellies, I got the dvd of the theatrical release of ROTK to help alleviate the wait for the extended version. When I saw the movie in the theater, I noticed that the pumpkin-polishing hobbit in the Green Dragon scene at the end of the movie looked a lot like Deagol. When I got the dvd, I flipped back and forth between the opening Deagol/Smeagol scene and the Green Dragon scene, but couldn't come to any solid conclusions. I also checked the credits, but there was no one listed as the pumpkin-polisher.

Does anyone know if the same actor did indeed play both parts? Pathetic, I know, but this is bothering me.

Yes, Andy Serkis, who played Smeagol/Gollum, was the pumpkin-polishing hobbit. (sixth item from the bottom)

yes, but you have your river hobbits mixed up. Deagol was Smeagols brother.

The actor polishing the pumpkin played Smeagol, not Deagol.

I may have to go back and check. The pumpkin polishing guy looked more like the actor who played Deagol, rather than Andy Serkis.

When I saw him, I thought it was andy Serkis, I asked on these boards was it him, and someone told me that it was. Unfortunately I cant remember who said it, but maybe someone who knows more about the movies can tell you more.

That's the guy I mean. The pumpkin polisher doesn't look anything like Andy Serkis, at least to me.

I believe some of those same kids appeared in Minas Tirith, too.

IIRC, Peter Jackson's two kids are among the group of hobbit kids at Bilbo's party, as well as being in the cave at Helm's Deep. I don't know if they appeared in ROTK, but I suspect they're somewhere in there.

Smeagol was played by Andy Serkis.

The pumpkin-carrying Hobbit from the end of Return of the King was neither of them.
