I've wanted to for a long time, but I've sorta got a reputation with my friends as the guy who doesn't, so I don't really ever have a chance to try without it being this big groundbreaking moment for everyone there. My friend Jason and I are supposed to, and my friend Aaron was supposed to make me brownies for 4/20 but everyone ate them all before I got one... And I've got the 'personality type' as it were. People are always shocked to learn I've never indulged. I'd like to try acid at least once, but it's the same dilemma. And, because of the SD threads on acid, I'm not afraid to try it, I'm just worried on how to make sure it really is LSD and not something else entirely.

I live in Amsterdam. And no, I don't smoke at least once every month. Once or twice a year, tops. Now, when I was still in college, things were different. Back then, the answer would have been yes. But only marginally so: once or twice a month, I'd say.

I guess the fruit is more tempting when it's forbidden, eh?

I'm not against it, and I hung with the pothead crowd in HS. I frequently played middle man when people were buying and shit, but I never tried it. Part of the reason is I'd probably do it too often, I don't have an addictive personality, but I like to party hard and was already a big enough slacker. Now it seems that the fact I've never done it is kinda a rare thing, so I guess I don't do it, just to be able to still say that. Maybe one day when I'm old and rich I'll start.

I will say that I don't think I'd get involved with a girl who smoked it alot. A few times a year is ok, but if its a weekend thing I'll probably steer clear. I think I tend to associate pot smoking with the types of people I knew who did it, and thats generally a very bad description. The guys were burnouts and the girls usually hooked up with everyone they smoked with or got high from. I know its not fair, but when I hear someone I'm dating was smoking with a bunch of guys I stop trusting her, fearing the pot made her a bit too uninhibited w/out me. Just the little thoughts that get tangled in the cobwebs in my head.

I really ought to check out that Purity test thing, as I was considered so naive/pure/straight/whatever that my friend tried to make me take a hit of something that he claimed was pot, but when I called him on it (Hey--even I know it smells like "moldy hay") he admitted it was TEA.

Jerk. Tried to show me up. I went around school saying that he gave me a sample hit of his stuff and it turned out to be tea. Told everyone not to buy from him, or smoke with him. Serves him right (Of course, given how "pure" I was considered, it's doubtful my talk had much of an impact.)

I should point out that my "abstinence" has nothing to do with moral/ethical issues. I haven't done a close study, but from what I know of pot, I'm not really sure that it's any "worse" than alcohol (I do drink, but really only beer and wine and champagne--maybe a daquiri or margarita. NEVER the hard stuff. Oh, and I was in my mid 20s before I even drank more than one glass/can at a sitting)

I've also never smoked cigarettes.

Probably the reason why I was reluctant to try any of these was because I felt I had an "addictive personality". Other than this damned board, it hasn't surfaced, if it's there.

Can someone post a link to that damned purity test?

It's been 5 or 6 years since I even took a hit. Used to twist up a couple a night. Funny thing though...everynight I still go through the same routine, just without. The only thing I really miss is the recliner hovering about a foot off the floor.

I did it in college but I grew out of it. And to junebeetle who asked what it is like, if you ever had laughing gas at the dentist, it is alot like that. And has Cecil ever addressed why you get hungry afterwards?

I tried it one time on my 24th birthday (OMG, I'm going to be 29 next month!) but I didn't get it at all. I took 2 puffs, nothing happened, I was bored. Never tried it since. My boyfriend smokes a lot (both cigarettes and pot) and it actually is starting to annoy me. I haven't figured out if it really bugs me because he's 31 and a pothead, or if it is because my church preaches against it. I am not familiar enough with pot to know why my church preaches against it, except perhaps because it is illegal. color me confused.

The american press had an article a few weeks ago that stated abot 5% of the US population smokes pot at least one a week, and about 20% have tried it.

Never tried it, though most of my friends smoke regularly. It doesn't bother me in concept but I just don't care for the idea of inhaling smoke.

I've tried other drugs, mostly out of curiosity. Haven't done any of them twice (other than alcohol).

I've not done any recreational drugs OTHER than pot, alcohol, and nicotine. And, my brain does not allow math to make sense as a result of the pot.

I smoke about 2-3 times a week, but only one blunt at a time, I never get seriously fucked up. I smoked when I was younger, 14-15, and I just started again last summer, and I like it because it opens my mind (pardon the cliche, please). After a few puffs, I get so laidback and prolific, I love the feeling. But I'm not by any means addicted. If I go to a friend's house and it's there, yay! If not, I don't care.

I never, ever smoke while I am away at school - usually a month at a time. I don't have a dealer, and I don't want to be too cracked out to do my work.

I disgree seriously with the idea that pot makes you stupid. Like I said, I always hated math! And I have a 4.0 GPA at college.

Omniscient - I've never had sex because I was high. I really don't get turned on that much! Just hungry.

I honestly think that if more people smoked pot, the world would be a happier place.

Also, I've never done any other drugs, although I am contemplating e - ya know, ecstacy. I go to a lot of clubs with a e happening. I've been researching it and read a really great article in Newsweek about it. Who knows? But I doubt it will happen.

Used to, back in the high school days, and just after high school. Of all the times I smoked it, I think there were only two or three times I really enjoyed it. Don't really miss it. Besides, the company I work for does random drug testing. Pot stays in your system longer than most other drugs. I'd hate to get called in for a wizz quiz and come up positive......

Legalize - Yes, I think pot should be legalized and I don't have any moral objection to mind altering items. I'm ganerally all for it.

I guess the thing I object to, in addition to the comparisons to smoking which I detest, is the culture that generaly surrounds it. I probably would be cool with the guy in the ballpark, or the guy sparking up after getting home from the office. Its the hippie-ish attitude and others that the most normal people plunge into while smoking that I lose respect for. I'm sorry, how can you take someone seriously who one minute finished putting her DKNY dress and spent a hour on her hair, who ends up in some random guys bedroom grooving to Phish and is totally "tripped out" by that Boogie Bass?

Well the only illegal drug I do nowadaze is pot. But I have done everything else--about 40 different illegal drugs.
And about 50 different legal intoxicants.

I must say I have to have the coolest hook-up. I get my weed delivered to me. My best buddy knows tons of growers. Who always have plenty of bud to get rid of. It's funny how much my buddy used to deal years ago--until he got busted. He would sell roughly a pound a day in eights quarters and halves. I remember back in the day he had a 6 six foot bong. My god the fun we used to have.

Maybe it's just cause I'm in SF. I have to rack my brain just to come up with a friend who doesn't smoke pot at least monthly. For most it's more of a daily occurance.

I used to like to do it now and then, but mainly when I was drinking. Pot alone used to make me jumpy and cause my heart to seem to race, but combine it with booze and I had a great time! Plus, for me it was like Viagra on steroids! It didn't take much to get me high. I can't drink any more and I don't know of anything to combine with pot to get the tranquilizing effect of the booze.

The first time I tried it, I had to smoke almost all of the 'doobie' to get buzzed and the reaction was delayed. I was puffing away with this cool hippie chick and she was watching me to see how I'd react and nothing was happening -- but I was young and it was all so exciting! Suddenly it hit -- and hit hard! I was buzzed for about 8 hours. We had a lot of fun!
