What are the better ceiling fan brands out now? Is Hunter still considered a good fan? What about Craftmade?

Ceiling fans

Zyada,

Hunter makes a damn fine fan. Let me tell you a story.

Once upon a time, a young man, strong of heart, bought a house. The house had no air conditioning, only a swamp cooler, so the young man thought it would be a wise idea to go to the local Wal-mart and buy ceiling fans for every bedroom, and one for the living room as well.

Well, of the five fans he purchased at Wal-mart, exactly five of them did not work. Of course, the only way he could find this out was by installing it. After replacing four of the five fans, the young man said, "Screw this," and went to a merchant of fine fans.

The young man bought a Hunter fan. It was lovely, with polished brass, and a light fixture, and the blades even had a different color on each side, so that he could better match his decor.

The Hunter fan seemed to install much faster than the other fans did. It even had a levelling tool included with it, so as to keep it from wobbling, which frightens even the most stalwart of men when directly overhead.

When the young man turned on the power, the fan immediately began to blow a cool breeze through the room. And, the ball bearings were so superior that he could not even hear the turning of the blades, only the gentle breeze in his ears.

At this point, the young man called up his concubine, and got seriously freaky in the cool breeze.

The moral of the story: If you buy a Hunter fan, you're fucked.

I like a happy ending!

Hunter makes a good fan, Casablancas are nice, too. I really like the balancing kit in the Hunters.

the hampton bay fans that we have at work have horrible remotes.

you have to stand in the exact spot, holding it at the exact angle for it to work.

usually takes a while.
