This question pertains to the courts more than it does to the TV show “COPS”, which is why I posted it here instead of Cafe Society, but if the mods see fit to move it…
Anyway, onto my question. Does anyone know if any video footage shot for the “COPS” TV show is admissable for use as evidence in a court of law? Are there cases where it has either been used against a defendant, or where a defendant has had such footage used in his or her favor, as the video may show the police acting not in accordance to the law?
I realize that such video would likely come from the raw, pre-production video, not the finished product we see on our TVs.
