well which one is it? U2 has this new album coming out, and i’ve seen/heard it advertised with 2 diffrent titles… the radio is calling it “how to build an atomic bomb” but i’m seeing ads on emptyvee for “how to dismantle an atomic bomb”. I’m sooo confused…
I think a better question is, why does Bono sing “one, two, three, fourteen” in Spanish?
How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Only 5 more days till it’s released in the stores, but I’m listening to it streaming from www.u2.com right now! I’m only 4 songs in, but so far I’m very impressed.
any reason for the change? its been listed on itunes as build and a couple other places too
When I filled out the form to listen to the album I got a kick out of the country field. Any other time you fill out an online form the United States is the first choice for country. But since it’s U2’s site the first choice is Ireland (UK’s second).
Are you sure about that, pope_hentai? I’ve only seen it as dismantle since it was announced. I don’t visit iTunes since I’m Canadian, so I can’t get any songs off it, but I haven’t seen it as build anywhere that I do visit. Plus Bono’s already given the answer to how you dismantle an atomic bomb in interviews he’s done recently - apparently it’s with love.

oddly enough this one starts with one title and ends with the other

ah well i’ll probably buy it either way…
Eh, I didn’t mean to sound quite so skeptical either. It’s late and I’m not expressing myself quite as well as I could, but what I intended to say is that there hasn’t been a change. I don’t doubt that both names could be floating around out there, but officially it’s only ever been How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.
See this thread from a few days ago.

Courtesy of the promoters who sent it to the radio station, I am now the proud owner of a copy. The title is indeed How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, and It. Is. Friggin. Amazing.
They’ve gone in a more lively direction than All That You Can’t Leave Behind was, and some of the songs (look out for Love and Peace or Else and Yahweh) are just what I was looking for in this release. It still has a lot of the recent themes, but they seem to be using a good bit of stylistic bits from their earlier years.
This review is preliminary because I just got it today and am trying to use the CD to drown out the awful local cover band playing right by my workplace. The opinions posited are those of someone who literally jumped up and down in excitement when she first recieved the CD.
I’ve been listening to it off the website and LOVE LOVE LOVE Love and Peace or Else and A Man and a Woman.
I’ve been listening to the stream, and I think it’s really, really good! I"m an old school fan who drifted away in the 90’s and thought All You Can’t Leave Behind was only passable.
I just finished listening to it on the website. I really like it, and I’m looking forward to many repeat listenings. Does anybody know if they’re planning to tour in support of this album?
Worldwide tour begins March 1st, in Miami.
I read somewhere (really!) that they’re planning 35 arena shows in the U.S. starting March 1, stadium shows in Europe over the summer, another 35 arena shows in the U.S. next fall and then Japan and Australia…
And they’re on SNL in about one hour…
Here’s at least one source for that “somewhere”
It’s coming from Amazon. Can’t wait, can’t wait!
Thanks for not being lazy like me, Ms. MacPhisto.
Did you catch SNL? I am very jealous of the audience, who got at least one extra song–All Because of You.
And to think I got on the SDMB to see if others were cringing about the embarrassing way Bono was mugging for the camera . . .
Yeah, Bono loves the camera, to say the least. I was more amused by the lap dance he gave the girl in the front row.
