Crazy keyboard why do you torture me?

Why are the " and @ keys switched on my keyboard? What I mean is, whenever I press one, the other shows up

I fixed this before but cannot remember how, can anybody help? I'm just as interested as to why this happens not just the remedy.

Can't you just pry the keys off and switch them?

A serious answer is that you've got your keyboard layout set to "US English" rather than "UK English". Set it to "UK English", and everything will be OK.

BTW -- Which bit of Brum?

IIRC my Ibook has the " and @ switched on the actual keys.
So my number 2 has @ above it.
Having language on UK English doesn't seem to change it.

A real pain since I use a "normal" UK Layout at work.

Turn it upside down and shake over the sink. If that doesn't work, take it apart and using a soft damp cloth, clean everything. If that doesn't work, go to Staples.

You know, considering I've dropped stuff like water, coffee and cheese on toast (cheese first) onto my keyboard, one of those might not be a bad idea.

But it's only virtually indestructible, so what if it's cheese on toast that can destroy it? What would ya do then hmmmmmm?

Heh, it's ok. I spilled coffee on mine and no one was the wiser.

Oops.

So that's what happened.

We'll call it even and agree to never speak of it again.
