Ice maker problem

My kitchenaide under counter ice maker is causing me fits (again). First the water pump, then the cutter grid and now this. It was not getting any water, so I replaced the water valve, and presto, the thing started spewing water over the freezing plate like it was supposed too. I noticed ice almost immediately, but it never released to fall on the cutter, instead it stayed on the plate until water came back on and melted it. The it did the same thing again and again. Now it is making the same funny noise it did when the water valve was dying, and the water flow has slowed down so that it is considerably less than it is supposed to be. I suppose that the new valve could be bad, but somehow I think it is another problem. Any ideas of what to look at next?
