Successor to Quickbooks and Quicken

If all this hullabaloo about Quicken is true,what software would be a logical choice to buy instead of it.

I'm looking for the equivilant of quickbooks pro.

This thread inspired me to have a look for alternatives and I stumbled onto Moneydance. It looks like it has almost all of the features Quicken does. Does anyone have any experience with this app? I'd be especially curious to know if anyone has tried it and found it lacking. A trial version is available for download. Price for the full license is more than competitive with Quicken.
